Default AKo 3 bet IP 200NL postflop duel

Tough and interesting hand i thought, ive discussed this with trainer so hope it isnt insulted that Ive posted it. came across some good ideas with trainer but wanted to share and gain some knowledge here.

Opp has highish vpip and pfr showing he is a bit lag but thats from a couple 100 hands. ive been siting down just a few orbits and nothing much has happened between us.

Thoughts on he thinks we have, he thinks what we think he has etc.

I think I'll give this a stab and combine the 1000 levels of thinking that I've put into this and come to a conclusion:

He's not folding, free card plz.

    they aren't 200bb deep, the guy's only 90bb deep.

I bet marginally larger on flop and shove turn and expect him to fold a lot.

well, the tough thing about not betting the turn is unless you spike the magic K or A on the river, you are basically toast for the hand as a river bet will look very bluffy and your opponent will most likely lead and cause you to fold.

So I prefer another bet...then you have to decide if you want to fire a third barrel on the river. I think a lot of times stuff like mid PP's show up here and just want to showdown but they will often fold to the second barrell, but won't quit on a turn check.

People love to look you up in blind v blind confrontations. With no read I check behind the turn and take a free card. With a read I might second barrel.

Without more information I am looking to see this hand out cheaply, I would check. Villain is very likely ahead right now, and is possibly on a strong enough hand not to fold even to maximum aggression. There are tons of hands a laggy villain might have that he isn't folding here.

Q is a nice card to shove on no?

There's no other bet-size on the turn besides shoving IMO.

66-JJ, and I don't think he'll fold any of this very often seeing as it's BvB. Having said that, there's a few SCs that missed the flop. I think he thinks you may have 88-JJ but probably AT+, KQ which is why he thinks it's correct to c/c. I don't think premiums are that much in your range because you'd have probably 3bet less pre with them. Plus whilst the Q is a bit scary, it's not that scary.

I think it's pretty marginal between whether to bet or check behind. As in a lot of spots, you have to tailor it to this player.

Is a check from him a scarey thing, since he's a lag (or is his aggression mainly preflop)?

Have you seen him float and give up before? Float and not give up? What did he turn up?

Does he tend to only call postflop if he's fairly committed to the hand, or is he testing you?

Obv you can't answer all of these questions with only a couple hundred hands, but hopefully you could answer some, and go in the direction that they steer you.

Either way, I think it's almost as important to play similarly against this opp later if/when you actually do hit as you play here.

The only problem with checking behind the turn is that we cannot really bluff many river cards. The nit in me says, check the turn and check the river unless an Ace or King falls. I would only do this against an unknown though.

However, with your reads I would really like to double barrel here. The only problem is opponents stack size. Any pot sized turn bet is essentially a shove.

Go with your feeling. I would check 60% and shove 40% of the time here.

Id check, since villain often has outs and wants to put u on AK. i would push at least JJ+ though.

also i prob dont even bet that flop unless i'm planning to double barrel.

Yea I would consider checking that flop because of the blinds. If you do bet flop, I'd bet more than 34 into 50.

Second barrel is real close.. Board isn't drawy at all so my guess is he's either really strong or has a medium PP. If he's like most people he'll fold the medium PP to a 2nd barrel. The blinds and slightly shorter stack make it a little less likely he'll fold. Plus lags never believe anyone. So I'll go with a check just this once.
