    Even though it might be heresy, this is a situation where I actually don't mind a slow-play. Would you ever raise this flop without a big hand? Assuming you don't spew, the answer is no and most reasonably aware opponents (I'm assuming the small blind fits this description) realize this. So, in order to induce more misplays, I like to call and represent a draw to get as much value as possible out of second best hands. Also, if you allow a card to come off his equity goes down significantly if he has a spade, which results in your putting more money in the pot with a bigger rather than a smaller edge. One of my favorite scenarios is when I just call an opponent on the flop and turn in these types of situations, and he checks to me on the river. Plus, if you fill up your hand is completely hidden.

    I think just mindlessly mashing the raise button in these types of situations is a pretty thoughtless approach. The board is scary enough to where you induce more mistakes by calling than by raising and allowing your opponent to play more correctly.

    you get plenty of value out of the AsXx alone to merit playing this fast.

    we don't want to give good odds for anyone behind us to draw to a flush, which is one good reason to raise.

    SB's range vs. Hero:

    Board: Ks Qs 4s
    Dead:

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 65.057% 63.77% 01.29% 10101 204.00 { QcQh }
    Hand 1: 34.943% 33.66% 01.29% 5331 204.00 { KK+, AKs, AcKs, AdKs, AhKs, AsKc, AsKd, AsKh, AcQs, AdQs, AhQs, AsQc, AsQd, AsQh }

    ---

    Almost all of these hands will be willing to get it AI on the flop against us, since if we raise our range still contains big draws. Also note that even if the turn was a blank, our equity only increases by 7% against this range, which IMO isn't worth the times a spade comes on the turn and we end up in a shitty spot. Plus our equity probably isn't even that high given the pot could easily go multiway if we just call on the flop.
