Default Underrepped Big Pairs vs Regs

I check lots of flops vs the better regs at in the donkish games I play. There are lots of reasons for this but that could probably be a discussion for another thread.

Here I’m put in tough spots by 3 regs (all are taggy 18-21/14-17 types, no ridic AF) after underrepping my hand on the flop. I don’t feel that these guys are the types to pull sick bluffs on me but I think they will call me down EXTREMELY light (think bottom pair on a board with no face cards or 1 face card; it has happened more times than I can remember).

All thoughts would be great (except “bet flop!” lol) regarding what they think I have and also wtf they have.

I like hand 3 and I think checking the flop with an overpair is a good play at times. But in hand 1 and 2 (esp 1) the flop is too drawy for it. As played, I think you have to fold them both.

I'd really like to know what your logic is behind your flop play.

And on the hands, it doesn't really matter what they have... it's either a bluff or a big hand and it isn't a bluff enough to call. It's not like the guy is showing up with AJ on hand one or TT on hand 2.

If you must slow play for value I like bet/check/bet much better. It allows us to narrow our villains range better.

maybe i ll start another thread about checking flops with big 1 pair hands vs certain players depending on image and history

in these spots i m just curious about what my hand looks like and opponent's ranges

if i check the flop im raising the turn, but normally id check in position rather than out or check turn to induce a chance of c/r'ing but if this is party just bet every street ffs.

check those flops if you like to give up value overall and gain reverse implied odds

this tricky stuff is really only useful VERY occasional and in a specific situation with a clear read

have any of them seen you do these c-b-b lines with these sorts of hands?

    pretty sure no

then i guess they were playing straightforward on the river, ie not bluffing hands with showdown value, or even bluffing much at all...and that's all you beat like massimo said.

#2 is most interesting to me. looks like you have mid pair, maybe T9 or 99, or like QJ/QT. so he prob plays JT or J9 like that, pair+diamonds, or a random bluff.
but...you have QdQx and he reraises AK, so he's unlikely to have KQ or a high flush. maybe if ur deeper, b/3b the river as a bluff?

In hand 1 your hand just looks like a bluff, but if he thought you were bluffing he'd call with most hands, not raise.

Hand 2 he's chatting so you should also be more inclined to fold.

I really would reccomend that you don't check flops with good hands OOP, in position it's a different story.

    thx man

    i srsly appreciate the advice

i m fkin hammered right now... so ignore what i m saying

    but

if you re used to playing the turn as if it were the flop, you ll own the regs much more than other ppl. in these cases, i was getting called down so goddamn light... sick spots

i check too many mediocre hands OOP to not check good hands from time to time OOP
