Default Hola Amigos (Poker Content Whee)

    Sup folks.

Summer was great down in Peru. Withdrew some of my roll to pay for the trip so time to grind it back. Glad to be back browsing and hopefully posting regularly.

Thoughts on a couple hands from 1st session back?

    Hand 1 :

Villain is running at 16/15 and seems pretty solid. My image is good postflop but my preflop stats are a little crazy if he’s paying attention to a HUD.

hand 1: meh, could be ok could be spew. i have a hard time giving people credit for flopped flushes. actually, if villain is thinking, your range here looks like sets/flushes/straights so you probobly get a fold here.

hand 2: if you think hes a station this is fine. FD's make up a decent part of his range here so that helps too.

hand 3: gross. just fold the turn.

    All are pretty bad.

    1. Why are you trying to punish a player that's range is so tight preflop anyways? After he calls the flop I think you have to threebarrel if you are going to continue but I think he calls because he has an overpair.
    2. You should bet the flop, but as played you've severely overepped your hand and your line makes no sense. I just think because opp sees u can have AA or a set here and that you really dont see a lot of bluffs show weakness on the flop he folds everything (and everything you are beating).
    3. Okay this one is okay, you got me there, but still marginal but metagame probably makes up for it.

like isf said, the AK hand is played how a call station would play AAA.
since he's a station, just bet the flop strongly, then prob check the turn and push the river.

i like the first one since he "should" fold his likeliest hands on the river, but timing can play a role (like thinking on the turn and checking quick on the river makes it more likely he calls, maybe if he insta calls hes more of a station as well...)

3rd one i like that it seems like a big call to make where you have a blocker card (Kd), but he's so tight, i'm not sure he can fold a set or low flush after waiting so long to make one.

hand 1 : villain snap-called with the exact hand I was trying to get him to fold (QdQx)

    hand 2 : villain snap-called with KQ

    hand 3 : villain snap-folded

hand 1 really is just an awful flop for you and you should try to bluff with at least some outs... you have almost none. sometimes just quit and don't be too fancy.

hand 2 why you would ever check this flop I have no idea. There's the FD and any time 2 broadway cards are out in a raised pot you have to be fearful of the next broadway card that could hit. JQK all could be disaster cards, plus any spade. Gotta bet this one hard. Your river bet doesn't make sense. That J should always throw some caution to you as j10, kq jj all just yahtzeed. I'm not saying to fold, but pushing is only being called by worse hands...you lose value to weaker hands and burn money to stronger

hand 3 fold pf fold turn
