Default $100nl vs cbet from tagg

    Villain is 14/7/3.0.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero ($109.30)
    SB ($21.25)
    BB ($23.30)
    UTG ($107.65)
    UTG+1 ($116.20)
    MP1 ($67.50)
    MP2 ($101)
    CO ($16.50)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7, 8.
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $3, 3 folds, Hero calls $3, 2 folds.

    Flop: ($7.50) 4, 5, 2 (2 players)
    UTG+1 bets $4, Hero ...

Assume first orbit at the table. How bad is a raise to say $15 here? I figure villain is on a fairly tight range, but I'm trying to get a feel for these types of spots.

id be thinking about how his range reacts to a flop raise and big turn bet when we are considered an unknown.
You can represent a set/fd and still have a money card for a straight.

I'd want a read on his c-bet size. Def. looks like one so, yeah, I might try to pick him off here.

Yeah, I wanted to say something in another of your threads from today. You seem enamoured with making plays. Are you trying to lagg it up more or are these hands atypical?

In case warpe is referring to me, which I'm not really sure.

Most of the hands I post are atypical for one reason or another. In this hand I just called with SCs in position against a tagg which I do occasionally, but for this flop it brings up a situation that I don't encounter often, so I ask about it.

I'm not really switching up my mode of play so much as just trying to more actively improve myself as a player (read: increase my post count).

you have to do enough in small pots with not a lot at stake just to encourage people to make a few plays/light call downs against you. Then we dont get the problem of people insta-folding every time we raise a flop/turn etc

I dont actually think raising and forcing a fold then showing is too bad here if your opp plays with you a fair bit

the reason i say not to make a habit is because this is a board where we are almost expected to be getting out of line a lot.

I dunno about showing (I never do) but I agree with the rest a lot, Miffed, 'cause I do it quite a bit, esp. in early orbits. Laggy smallball is fun
