Hand 1 - fold... may be a huge donk but that just makes it more likely he called you down with a 3 or 8.

hand 2 - follow up your raise on the flop with a turn bet. that card helped you and you could take it down if you continue to show strength.

hand 3 - with the action it's hard to put him on an overpair. He could have made a set of 8s or 9s but outside that I think you're looking at maybe JT? I call here personally getting 2.5:1. There are a lot more hands that make sense that you can beat than hands that beat you. A set is the only hand I think has you.

1: Why give a free card when he is drawing most of the time?
2: In this BU vs BB situation we have the best hand a lot
3: What do we expect to call that we beat? Exercising pot control on the turn I think is best here. I almost pushed though.

1: he can float you a lot, and push most rivers. The thing is, he'll bluff pretty easy in this spot (and you can't call, cause your AA is unimproved). Because of the small eff. stacks, you can give a free card and reassess river.
2: while you may have the best hand, it is pretty marginal and pretty easily gets drawn upon. I think its Sklansky who said you sometimes you have to be able to fold winners because of this situation (bad position, small pot, easily drawn upon)
3: the pf pot size is perfect. by potting flop, you only have 1 pot sized bet left, making your decision easy. Does he have AA/ KK a lot in this spot?

Another way to look at 1: pot is $46. If you bet $32, he'll have around $58 left to wager for a $110 pot. He'll pretty much always push this one, since he passed commitment point.
If you see it this way, and the board is less draw-heavy, then its a supa dupa easy instacall. But the board is too draw-heavy (wtf could he call with half his remaining stack on turn that I'm now beating with this more ugly river) so you have to reasses (is he really on FD, and only a missed FD bluffing?).

Hand 3.

Doesn't a flop like this hit quite a few hands quite hard such as mid pairs and suited connectors which are in a lot of preflop calling ranges for implied odds. (weak thinking?)

I can see the temptation to shove turn but as soon as they have called the flop bet surely pot control is the best move. Being check raised on the turn is horrible and the river looks like a value bet that has to be paid as you have been put on missed over cards.

Betting the turn makes hands like TJ pay to see the river but given the lack of flush draws is it better to exercise pot control instead in this case? Are most of the hands calling the flop bet already made or are they still drawing?
