Default $100nl QQ vs 40bb push pf

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB ($38)
    Hero ($156.50)
    UTG+1 ($100)
    MP1 ($49)
    MP2 ($164.50)
    MP3 ($167.85)
    CO ($100)
    Button ($180.80)
    SB ($93.50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, Q. CO posts a blind of $1.
Hero raises to $5, 7 folds, BB raises to $38, Hero ...

I need to win 43% of the time to break even, and QQ is 40% vs QQ+,AK so I figure a call is good here since I have no stats on villain. Thoughts?

Yeah, i can't fold this. I have a habit of running into AK in this spot at least 265% of the time.

It's a call because he is unknown. He could be on tilt, overvalues medium pairs, etc.

For what it's worth, (and what I know or don't know about villain), unknowns I probably would call with TT.
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..

    CALL.

yeah, it is QQ+/AK a lot here. but, its also complete trash a lot, too. with a 40bb stack you have to put him on a much wider range than QQ+/AK.

i put him on 88+,AJs+,AQo+,KJs+,KQo+ and a whole mix of other broadways....and i CRUSH this range.

shortys do very stupid things. most dont know how to short stack, they are just buying in to "shove all-in" w/o risking a lot of chips.

    CALL.

The % of time you need to win to break even is a pot odds thing. I'm calling $33 in a pot of $44.5 so the % is 33/(33+44.5) = 0.425 which I rounded to 43%. At the table it's easier to think of it as (amount to call)/(total pot after you call) which I think of here as about 33/77 which I know is 40-45% from quick estimation (it helps that I know 3/7ths is 0.428571 but that's because I'm a math nerd).

You can get QQ being 40% vs QQ+,AK from Poker Stove, but it's one of the kind of common ones I've come to "just know".

pot odds is around 3:4 and our pot equity vs QQ+, AK is 40%. Anyways, going gamboll against unknown shorty should be a good thing.

TT is an ezzzzz fold, JJ would be much tougher because then QQ+ AQ+ are all in opps range.
