    Default Routine live straddled hand

1/2 game with the usual tourists. I'm around $250 deep.

I straddle UTG. I started this a couple orbits ago to get the game juiced a bit and have a couple other people doing it as well.

Three or so limpers, I have :As: :Js: and raise to $15 to juice the pot some more. 4 to the frop, around $60 in the pot.

    :Ks: :Qh:

I bet $40 and get called by a loose/passive player who plays pretty tight and straight forward post-flop. He's on a sick run of cards and has over $400.

$140 in the pot, Turn is a brick.
    I check, he bets $30 and I insta-call.

    River is an air-ball.
    I puke, then check/fold.

    How did I do?

He gave us a gift with his stupid bet size, are we better off swinging for fences?

Meh I like just a call on the turn. Dumb fish isn't folding TP here I don't think.

such a week turn bet, a big-hand would bet bigger to protect.

You've repped a monster, people are nits live, I take advantage and shove.

He's been seen making weak bets with monster hands. He's already hit Quads twice for the high hand jackpot and shown Aces twice and Queens three times. If he knew how the bet worth a damn and learn not to show uncalled hands to pay-off monkeys, he'd have at least another $100-$200 behind. The short of it is, that he might be weak here, but his weak bet doesn't give any information away. Also, I think he checks behind draws quite often in this spot.

Results: I fold to a $30 river bet (lol), he shows his set of sixes.

I disagree. Most of the live ones that I've played on live tables are loose-er than hell donks. Okay, some may play meekly, others outrageously, but two features hold true for 90% of them:

    1. They love seeing flops
    2. They tend to make crying calls.

Basically, they have a tough time folding with any semblance of a hand.

Villain's $30 bet to me signifies at least top pair. I've played against postflop nits like the one described- the key is his $40 call on the flop. He's not calling without a made hand, or possibly a high flush draw. When he bets $30 behind you on the turn, flush draw is out. I play the hand the same way.

    QFT!

That said, you can make a killing by raising their weak hands, then c-betting when they miss. A loose raise every 2-3 orbits is free money, more often than that and you will get the maniac treatment (which you may or may not want.)
