420 hands isn't a good indicator that he is a nit at showdown, and 8% ATS makes it seem as though he is not positionally aware, since he is still raising 7 percent of his hands.

I would raise here to about 22-24 and play the hand out from there. If he has 77-99 or jj-kk he might fold and if he has AK or 10 10 I'm sure he'll let you know on the flop or turn.

Like Jellodays said, I'm seeing a lot of the sort of thing where a guy might be 12/9 or so but has a 9 or 10% attempt to steal. That's a big giveaway that they're not positionally aware, imo.

Because of that particular thing in villain's stats I'd probably 3-bet preflop here everytime. If villain had something like a 30% attempt to steal, then I'd be more inclined to flat call, although I'd 3-bet some then too.

On the flop it's one of those omfg blah situations to me where it sort of feels like calling and raising both leave a bad taste in your mouth. Raising is definitely best though.

my thought process was that his weak bet on flop sounds like either strong or pretty weak, probably not flush draw. so i decided to call and see what he's gonna do on the turn.Basically, i raise here against some loose guys.

my reasoning is that i see so many of these guys, it makes me sick. i note them as "stepper-uppers." they minbet or lead weak, and when they dont get folds or raises, they "step it up" on the next street.

yes, sometimes they are monsters, but really it was a blocking bet on the flop that is now trying to steal the pot. problem is, you just improved and can confidently SLAM him with a raise. you want to really mess with him...minraise him, but realize you are laying sick odds to hit his flush.

i see this as draws...or vulnerable non-A hands like JJ-QQ...but i raise his flop and now raise his turn lead. this is a collossal idiot that gets kept in the poker world because people will fold marginal stuff to his weak bets, or call, allowing him to hit a real hand. dont be the guy that allows him to build a roll. when he leads weakly, fold or raise. only call with the most marginal of draws that will likely stack his ass.

Almost never flat-call this guy pre-flop. Even floating these guys was an utter disaster without better information.

yeah, i messed up the whole thing at the beginning and got punished for sure After taking passive line in early two streets, i still continued this kind of play .. how do you folks feel NOW? my read was correct but raising flop is probably the better option than extracting more money from a tightish guy after.
