    Default Operation Study Poker Books

I am going to reread all my poker books. This time, I am going to post one sentence paraphrase of each chapter. Every day (hopefully) I will read one chapter from a specific book and try to condense the information from that chapter down to one or two sentences at the most.

I am going to start with "The Art of Learning" by Josh Waitzkin.
Then I am going to do "The Theory of Poker " by Sklansky

Default Chapter 3 Two Approaches to Learning

The key to pursuing excellence is to embrace an organic, long term learning process and not to live in a shell of static, safe mediocrity.

Entity learning, focus on end results only and not the process.

Incremental Learning, focus on the process of learning.

Draw wisdom from every experience good or bad.

Default Chapter 4 Loving the Game

Feed back should be on effort

There will be nothing learned from any challenge in which w don't try our hardest.

Growth comes at the point of resistance, we learn by pushing ourselves and finding what really lies at the outer reaches of our abilities.

    Wonderful stuff.

Books are based on a handful of ideas- the rest is often just explanations and elaborations. You have done great in boiling down the first chapters into powerful phrases.

A smart man learns only from his own mistakes.
A wise man learns from his own mistakes, and those of the smart man and the fool.

This is an interesting twist to an operation, I like it.

Perhaps you could go into more detail in your first paragraph about what stakes/games you play and a bit about your poker background.

Good luck with your readings and poker
