Can't Play (Internet Problems?)

Not sure if this is the right spot, but anyways. I'm having major problems playing at both UB and FT. My internet is working just find, in the sense that I can browse around, but when it comes to trying to play it doesn't work. UB will open and I can even sit at a table, and attempt to play, but during every hand I get an extensive internet problem message and then it locks up. On FT, I can't even go that far. I click on the shortcut and the connecting screen comes up, but it tries over and over and finally says "Unable to connect.". I'm at a loss what to do. I have posted on a tech forum, and emailed FT (had the worse problems) and tried their advice.

The tech forum hasn't gotten back to me yet, but FT recommended that I make sure FT and port: 443 is in my firewall exceptions list. I had already messed with adding fulltilt to the exception list and that didn't help. I then added Port: 443 to the exception list and it still didn't help.

I'm at a loss and need some help. So thank you for any help you can give.

Oh and I had this problem like a week ago when I moved back to my apartment for school. And I had my roommate (tech support for an apartment complex) tinker around with my wireless and even though he didn't get that to work when I plugged back up the sites worked fine. But 2 days ago I unplugged my computer for the first time since then and when I plugged back up the problem has reoccured. I would go ask him, but I haven't seen him in these 2 days, and since he's a new roomie, I don't even have his number yet. So I thought I would turn to you guys because someone here might have had the same problem at one time. Thanks.

I would try completely turning off any firewall programs you have(windows, peerGuardian etc)

I shoulda have stated that I have tried that also. The only firewall I'm running is "Windows Firewall", and just to make sure I just went and turned that off, and I still get the same results. I have no idea what to do. It's confusing the hell out of me.

Go into your router and add your ip address to the DMZ (demilitarized zone). That will tell the router to allow any and all traffic to reach your machine without filtering. With that in place and your firewall turned off you should be able to connect. Once you can connect, turn your windows firewall back on. Try the poker site again.

If all that works then you know the router is the issue and can work from there.

I'm plugged straight in from the wall. I don't have a router. At least not one I know of or have access to. It's through my apartment complex, so I know just about nothing about the internet there. I'm not even sure of the provider.

If you're plugged into the wall, then there must be a router SOMEWHERE in the building doing all the dirty work. The router is the source of your problem. See if you can talk to the admin of it and get some ports opened.
