Default on a scale of one to ten...

how bad is this? no reads on villain... i was studying some hh in pt and almost gagged when i read this. i felt like i mis played the flop and my bet on the turn doesn't make sense and why would i bet only $18 on the river? someone please tell me this is either a really fucked up hand or really standard because of pot control purposes.

It's hard to say how bad it was but I'm no expert. To me I would think if he had an ace he would have raised on the turn. Since he was the first to raise preflop, and only raised to $4, I would think he has a middle pocket pair but no premiums. Probably 66-1010 I would guess??? The only other hand I could see him calling you every street would be some suited heart connectors, but playing those on a paired board is bad. You probably have his hand dominated and with the pot on the river being about $50, betting $18 might not be too bad if you know he is way behind you. If he is a loose passive player he may call just to see getting over 3.5:1 odds. Just my oppinion, like I said I'm no expert.

    1) calling a PF raise OOP with Q8?

    2) donk lead flop?

    3) Turn bet seems risky given that he's displayed strength preflop and likely to have an ace or better queen

    4) Given that you haven't scared him out by the river, he's probably got something. Hope it's an ace and value bet river harder with yer boat if he's a station? Or if he's really aggressive try a check to induce a bluff?

I don't really know about that river. I guess I could see a weak bet inducing a bluff from a maniac who'll take that as a sign of weakness, or getting called by a station with an ace who might not call a bigger bet on that scary river without a queen.

I play preflop the same. You're getting 5:1, and surely you're a good enough player to make that call profitable with Q8o.

I lead the flop here too. Any ace, king, or heart really sucks for us on the turn, so why give a free peek?

I probably bet the turn for a little more. You bet half the pot for $12, so I'd probably bet like $16 as a value bet/protecting our hand, blah blah blah standard bet.

With this river, I probably fire about 2/3rds of the pot against an unknown. I think we both know that with reads this can change.

It's not bad, your betting is just a little weird, but you're a nit so I already knew that

I actually fold here pre-flop. Crap hand, crap position, deepish money.

Also, I think you're good for a bigger river bet.
