    Default I hate nits

Villain was running like 16/8 over small sample. With an aggression factor of .3!!!

I would 3 bet but he raised utg so i thought call ip was better. I guess the flop raise is pretty bad.
    Thoughts?

yeah i might not even raise the flop. his range to me seems JJ+ and AQ+, and we can probably throw out JJ because he might not even c bet that flop and certainly wont call a raise and even more certainly wont lead turn. for that matter we can throw out AK. this seems to be a pretty clear fold to me.

I personally call flop with the intention of folding turn and maybe bluffing hearts.

As played muck 'em so fast your head spins.

Don't raise the flop if you don't want to get all in

i would just call flop but planning to fold to a lot of 2nd barrels seems beyond weak

i would fold preflop and just call flop.

I also prefer 3 betting preflop to calling but we treat our A as more of a blocker when we 3bet than a true value card.

I think his most likely holding here is AQ tbh, though 99, KK and AA are all in there. I'd call and evaluate the turn; we have position and can raise/push if the turn is a heart or a diamond, as well as a decent amount of equity in any event.

As played, gosh, I don't know. It's hard to see what we beat - KQ doesn't play so fast, and there's no way JJ calls the flop then value leads the turn. I guess it's a fold.

I don't think AQ is his most likely holding at all since he's a nit and he called out raise and lead out the turn. I put him on QQ+ here. Most nits would check the turn to you.
Read on the villain is key here and 16/8/0.3 can change a lot if this is really a small sample.
With this read, I probably play the hand like a nit myself, calling flop, turn and I would allow him to bluff me off if he 3 barrels KQ or AQ here.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

But I don't think he's gonna bet anything worse than a chop.. (though if he bets less than 3/5 it's time to evaluate)

    when you raise the flop

    what r u protecting against

what r u getting value out of

sry i m too tired and tilted to use question marks
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Makes sense, I should really stop turning hands into bluffs in these spots. Especially when nobody is willing to make a hero fold and why would they.

im not saying im a nit but when you just call this flop im leading 98 or better plus any draw on the turn. Im assuming even a nit is capable of realizing his TT/JJ/KQs type hands are worth a second barrel here.

    folding the best hand : 47 Sklansky$

building the pot with a hand behind villain's calling range : 53 Sklansky$

underrepping our hand when we're not afraid of many drawing hands being in villain's range, all while inviting him to valuetown himself with a 2nd best hand... and never folding the best hand : priceless
