I always seem to run really well around the middle and the end of the month.
Maybe it has something to do with the fish getting their cheques from work and then signing them over to me on the weekends!

Wow will, 94k hands, thats sick. I wish I had your work ethic. I had a week more or less off from poker this month as there was a music festival here and some friends were in town, so I only got in 25k hands.

It may look like I need to play more, but really what I need is to study more.

First 6k is running bad at 1/2 and last 4k is running good at 2/4. Soooo looking forward to this month since I'll be playing a bit laggier and pwwwning. Hopefully I can buckle down for at least another 10k hands lol. I just keep wanting to spend my time researching the game instead of playing the game. Weird, but good imo. If I run bad this month I'll be playing a bit more though since I need the money.





edit: Oops looks like I forgot to add in like $200 I lost at hu and 3/6 over like 50 hands. Oh well. Not like any of youse gonna notice or care anyways.

started out running bad and playing bad, move down for a while and finally moved back up 5 days later. 13k hands @25nl in 5 days. one of my biggest months volume wise and i didnt play the last 9 days of the month. im just happy to get back into the green.

Back playing again after about 15 months off. Have enjoyed keeping up with things by lurking on FTR here and there.

Back story... took a break after UIGEA in Oct 06 then came the arrival of our first baby in Jan 07. I work from home so take it is me that takes majority care of young Benji ever since his Mum went back to work.

I decided to relaunch my poker playing (and relieve the itch) by starting fresh learning 6 max (since I was 100 NL full ring pre UIGEA) and was donking around at 10 NL & 25NL for previous months playing sporadically and getting the hang of short handed. Got serious at the end of January after launching an account at Full Tilt, and am 1/3 way through the bonus there after 5 weeks. Roll is well over 5k so will be moving to 0.50/$1 next month to continue the learning curve in 6-max.

I want to send a big thanks to ISF and Sauce whose articles, guides, posts, videos is what made the transition to 6-max so much easier and so much more fun. ISF really needs to be signed up by FTR to keep his excellent articles here - before a poker magazine or other takes him from us.

Its been a profiable month - and the most hands I have ever logged (thanks to switch to 6-max no doubt).

On the plus side, I took 4th in a $5 rebuy 6 max for $700 last night (only one of 4 or 5 tournaments I played this month). My edge in this tournament was absolutely huge, the players were just awful. And I'm up about $150 playing heads up razz against insanely bad players. I'm not any good, I haven't even read a book on it, although Sklanksy on Poker is in the mail. But they are so bad I still profit. With that and rakeback, which should be about $500, it's a pretty good month.

Too bad I can't beat 50NL though. Beating 25NL alone does not give you the necessary skills for beating 50NL at full tilt, that's for sure. They are totally different games and I can't seem to adapt to 50NL. I'm gonna keep trying though.

Taxi, the "Game analysis" graph should NOT be used as a measure for how you're running. You can look at the All-In hands graph for an accurate representation of how you run in all-in spots (obv that is in S-bux not G-bux so it's not super useful anyway).

(I'm not saying that you're not running bad, but that graph isn't really meant to tell that story.)

Some advice:

Don't think that you need to start making moves you dont understand just because the blinds are higher. Play your fundamentally solid game thats working so far for you and make adjustments later when you understand why you are making them.

definitly do it noble. With your game you will probly never loose 7 buyins at 100nl. Just push through and know that variance will work itself out eventually if you hit any.

Noble - good luck moving up man. Just don't go spewy tilting and making silly plays if things are suddenly more aggressive, and you'll be fine! If I remember correctly, people float more at 100nl. 100nl was one of my hardest levels, I dont really remember why even, I guess I just took a while to get over the hump.

yeah go for it. 100nl is really easy, ok every level seems easy when you play higher than it, but still i think the jumps to 200nl and to 400nl are much tougher so I don't see you having any problems at 100nl. gl.

yeah imo it takes at least 10k hands normally to get over the psychological difference when moving up stakes. like i said this is just my experience.

Basically the thing is that the SB graph is only available for hands that go to showdown. The real power of the program is in the filters - take a look at spoon's guide to advanced filtering .

Not many hands, just played for around 15h. Got owned by a lucky nit for 8BI before he ran away, but I still had fun the whole session and didn't tilt any.
