Default Need Idea for Sales Prop bet

Some of you may know this, but most probably dont. Im a salesman at a Honda Dealership in South Carolina and have worked there for almost two years.

Two of the guys that work there and myself have become pretty good friends, but like everyone we get bored with our jobs and have decided we would like to do something to change it up.

We would like to set up some kind of prop bet for ourselves that would motivate us to talk to more people and sell more cars. The only thing we have come up with so far is have a weekly competition for most write ups. The two with the least amount of write ups would buy lunch for the person with the most write ups.

We also would like do something month along with the prize being something such as dinner at high end restaurant.

Prop bet would have to be surrounded around something that would motivate us to talk to more customer, not necessarily sell more cars. Simply because the car business is a numbers game and we realize that more poeple we talk to the more we will sell.

Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Those are some weak ass prop bets. Who's going to be motivated by lunch?

Prize can be changed, its really the paramaters of the prop bet that are the most important.

Do it as a points system, and reset them every week. Use write up as they are measurable.

If top performer gets 100 write ups, and the next closest gets 75, that guy gets 25 points.

So this with the top and second top performers. After X weeks whoever has the most points gets something that all the losers chip in on.

You ever watch that show on a&e about that las vegas car dealer ship? It was like the #1 chrysler dealer ship in the country. They did a bunch of crazy shit to increase sales. Look it up on a&e.com I don't remember much about it.

Show is called King of Cars Dealership is Towbin Dodge in Henderson, Nevada. Show is semi close to reality in a store of that size, but they do (or use to) close to a 1000 cars a month. Our store is having a great month if we do 150, the salespeople that would be in this prop bet all do between 12-15 cars a month. Were not superstars by any means, but we have all always had the three highest gross averages in the store. We decided that we would like to step it up a notch in April and really kill it, so just looking for something that would be competitive and fun for all of us.

Whoever gets the most customers interested in whatever way is measureable by you "write ups" I think gets the commission of the last sale of the month from the guy who got the least.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

Blake: We're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anybody want to see second prize?
    [Holds up prize]
Blake: Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired.
