2 river bluffs on very scary boards.

does my line make sense here? Am I successfully representing a hand that beats opp? This is kind of a double check.

I've got opp at about 16/11. He seems to be a standard 200NL player (in my very limited experience that is). He is not really getting too out of line postflop. I haven't really done much of anything. Not really involved in any big pots either way. about 18/something as far as stats. Table just recently got short handed. Am trying to rep AsKx, or Asxs.

hand 2. opp is very nittish. I have been pretty active on this table. att to steal is a laughable >70% (small samples, yay). I am running in the 22/15 range here. I am assuming opp has a lot of spades, some 8's and T's. and some medium PP's. I don't think he likes seeing the J on the river. I am definitely semibluffing most if not all draws against this opp.

Hand 1: I could see JJ/QQ/AA (with 1 spade), a set (22/TT/KK), AK (with A of spades) or Axss/JTss/T9ss as villain's hand.
I think that if you want him to fold Qs or Js you need to bet around $70, you'll be representing a big flush wanting to recover lost value.
However, with the hands I mentioned I don't think there are enough hands that would fold, out of the possible hands ... so I check behind.

Hand 2: I prefer betting $20 on the river

I am putting him on med PP's and some Kx hands. probably KJ/KQ are most likely.

I don't think he ever folds a high spade here, but I am not certain he has one that often either. basically I was trying to fold out all non-flush hands.


Warpe, IF we are going to try this, what bet sizing should I be looking for here? are we thinking 3/4 or so for both turn and river? maybe slightly more on turn, 2/3 on river?

The only problem with the bigger turn bet is if the river isn't a spade, I don't think he folds much.

Hmmm, perhaps that means that this was a bad place to attempt to steal. damn small flop bets always suck me in.

I'd bet 3/4-ish on the turn to rep the completed draw/protect against a high spade. 1/2 pots on the turn always look weak to me and usually are.

I'd bet whatever we bet for big value with the nuts, up to and including a shove. We're bluffing so we can't go weak-kneed on the last street.

really? I've been using the delayed cbet to some success lately. maybe more useful in position?

yeah, position is half of it. the other half is the check on the flop
