Default 100NL: Gettin' my feet wet.

    Unsure about both of these.

    Hand1:

I've noticed villain LAGGY on all streets

3 folds, MP2 raises to $5.5, Hero (poster) calls $4.50, CO (poster) calls $4.50, 3 folds.

    Flop: ($18) 8, 2, 2 (3 players)

    MP2 bets $14, Hero calls $14.

    MP2 bets $28.2 (All-In), Hero ... ?

    Hand2:

Villain 20/5/1.5 over 150 hands. Most of my reads came from 50NL so he must donk around at both.

Hero ... vbets? 20/5/1.5 loose enough to call here with AT/AJ/junk? What do I make of that weak turn bet? God I hate playing OOP

in hand 1 the decision to play for stacks is made on the turn, given that you called, easy call on the river. folding here would be really bad. Especially given that he can easily have a naked A that he is pushing.

just went back and noticed extremely weird bet sizing. don't really know what to make of it. is this his standard bet size?

hand 2 kinda looks like a float line, might C/C to allow him to bluff again. I would expect a bigger turn bet w/ AT for sure. Although, I guess that 9 counterfeited most of his 2pr hands, so maybe a bet is in order. if I were to bet it would be about 20, if I were to check, I would probably call about 25-30. dunno if this is good or not though.

    1) Don't call 5.5bb pfr's from laggy 1/2 stacks with small/medium pairs.

    2) I'd block river for like $20 like pgil said. I'd lead the turn too.

See I like this call. I basically had rule of 10 AND position. Nines are a BIG pocket pair. Medium? That's 66-88

rule of 10 sucks vs. lags. you want to be positive villain is stacking off every single time you hit a set if you go by the 10x rule and lags aren't doing that. if you are so happy with your big pair then try to get him all in on flop with your overpair. if you aren't happy when you make an overpair then you are playing for set value (which is bad vs. this villain and his pfr size).

I guess I was only moderately happy with my overpair on the flop, so I went passive...

Fair point though -- dig it as an overpair or fold PF vs LAGG. Duly noted sir.

I guess I dug it enough as an overpair cause I called that river, trusting my lagg read enough to figure he'd do this with missed overs...

you guys both suck. hero posted $1 for his first hand at the table and it was only $4.50 to see a flop against a $55 stack. I am making a decent size raise on the flop btw. If villain calls, you need not put any more chips in the middle unless you fill up.

hand 2) played it fine. on river i'm prolly check calling less than a half pot bet

That's only one worse than CO, nit!

I used to only ever post in BB, but stopped caring. I post in CO/HJ, and sometimes 3 off the button in these UB 10-man games. At least if anyone like you is on the table they'll think "HEEE HAWWW"

Oh, why are we raising flop with the nines?

defines our hand. or i suppose you could try to milk villain who might have max 6 outs. either option isn't bad, just don't fold

I've been told by others on the forum to play low overs more passively & shutdown if an overcard comes & v is still laying it into you...

...I think vs laggs it just might yield more value. I dunno vs TAGGs or stations...

Hand 1: I'm going to get it in with 99 vs LAG 1/2 stack. Its all about how you do it as villain could easily have 77 or worse here. Call preflop for set value -EV.

Hand 2: If I'm betting this river its to fold to a raise, so around 20-25. I think villain isn't capable of "floating" the flop here enough that if we check and he bets he's not going to have a weak enough hand that we should call. That said, I think villain is more likely to call a bet with weaker ace.

I like this plan for the river.

So you 3-bet the nines from MP? I didn't call for set value alone, nines have some overpair value in there as well...certainly with this flop.

Heh, I post in the CO but after that I just wait, esp on sites with a bet pot button.
