Fold pre-flop, usually check the flop, fold the river

River is an easy fold, can't remember the last time I won a showdown against a river raise without the nuts.....

The problem isn't ZOMG river raise!

It's that he raised a value bet + call and his line looks exactly like the nutish flush stringing us along.

or a flopped set looking to pair the board?

edit: actually a flopped set probably raises on the turn....so yea
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

flopped set wouldnt raise the turn, maybe the flop but not a turn that scary with players betting into him. Though yes obvious fold on the river. Also is check/fold to a decent bet way to weak on the river? specifically if villain 2 the nit bets?
