AQ and facing aggression on a really dry flop

Not too many reads on the guy. I'm playing on a different skin so I don't have my notes but I do know he's a regular. I don't have PAHUD running right now, but I do know his stats are TAggish. He's not particularly bad, but he's definitely not impressive and has plenty of leaks. He's too spewy against the fish and calls too light. There was a hand previous when he 3-bet 88 from the SB vs a BTN open, cbet a Q high dry flop, got min-raised and called. I don't know if he and the other guy had some history though.

He and I have never really been in a big pot or have significant history as far as I can remember. He definitely 3-bets AK preflop. Not sue if he calls with suited aces OOP. I really don't know if he's dumb enough to think c/r the flop with a set is a good idea here. Then the board just keeps getting uglier. Should I have folded the turn if I'm just going to fold the river?

I looked him up after my session and his stats are 22/16/2.29 over 600 hands, his street by street aggression is 2,4,1. Does that change how you think the hand should be played?

Should I have folded the turn if I'm just going to fold the river?

Yes. The strength of your hand is right in between the upper and lower parts of his polarized range, and he will probably fire the river with his full range (I would at least). If that's the case you can't win unless you improve. Puting in 24BB on the turn with basically a 0-5 out draw is no good. Folding the flop is not out of the question either.

I bet closer to the size of the pot on the flop and might just let this go right there if we don't have a history of him playing back light at me or other TAggy players. When taggfish cold-call from the SB it's probably a pretty reasonable hand.

What is your line if you are villain with a set? betting out first then reraising any reraise?

Axx flops are GREAT spots to check/raise a set. The aggressor will rep an Ace with a lot of air and call-down quite often when they actually connect.

How often to people not follow through after a c/r on the flop? How often will we like our hand better against our opponents range after seeing a turn card? I think peeling in spots like this is a newbie sort of play against most opponents. Make your tight folds in small pots and force yourself to make the decision on the flop.

He's pretty much always going to fire the turn with a flop c/r and it's one of those spots where calling 3streets here isn't good. Your either way ahead to some move or wb IMO and I'd say wb more often than not.

fold the turn for sure, and you may be able to fold the flop, although i never could. after he bets the turn you can almost guarantee hes putting in another bet on the river which you know you cant call unimproved, so just fold the turn.
