Laydown, watzzat?

    Default Laydown, watzzat?

Opponent seems kinda tight, passive and straight forward. I stacked him an orbit ago with Deuces vs his KK when he called my c/r on a drawy, raggy flop and rest went in when top pair paired. Maybe he has it in for me? My spidey sense said he flopped the joint.

    Hero ($470.05)
    BB ($208.35)

    Pre-flop: ($3, 6 players) Hero is SB
UTG calls $2, 3 folds, Hero calls $1, BB checks

    Flop: ($6, 3 players)
Hero bets $4, BB calls $4, 1 fold

    Turn: ($14, 2 players)
Hero bets $12, BB raises to $36, Hero calls $24

    Hero checks, BB bets $68

Isn't the flopped joint really the only thing he is repping here? On that basis I'd look him up.

    and all sets, fold

villain is kinda passive and str8 forward, he isnt betting sets on this river. He is literally only repping 67...but i still fold as thats probably what he has.

edit: could also have turned some weird combo draw like j10 clubs and that also got there on the river making it even more of a fold in my mind.

agree with atothec101 but I use his logic to make a call.

    Should I re-raise the turn?

play it the same and fold the river. if he has it in for you and tried to make a (pretty decent) semibluff on the turn, he probably got there. Youre only good if he turned a made hand into a bluff (this would also be a good spot for him to do that) but I think that is far less likely than a connected semibluff or flopped joint
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

I'm kinda confused by this now. The read makes me think that he either slowplayed the flop or the turn actually improved his hand.

Possible flop slowplays are sets, straight and 2 pair. I find it hard to believe that this guy would either semibluff TJ/clubs or value raise 2 pair on the turn so I'm leaning towards A5/A9/67/55/99. Another possibility is that he called the flop with A high and is now raising because his hand improved.

On the river I'm gonna make a leap and say he cant value bet thin so sets and all 2 pairs are out. His VB range is probably flushes and straights and given that I dont think he semibluffs the turn much and even if he did he got there, I guess fold.

tbh I've come full circle and I think we could muck the turn without fretting too much.

Do we think our 4 outs are clean?
How often is he checking a worse hand behind on the river?

I'm a pretty big fan of not peeling raises light and thought this was a pretty good spot to peel.

Well I think we can call them 3 outs at least.
    Probably a lot.

My big problem is that his value raising range is actually pretty strong and given the read his bluff raising range is pretty small. So do we just fold every club/7/Q? Do we expect him to follow up on a blank? Do we expect him to bet A5/AJ on a blank? There's a lot of tough decisions on lots of rivers and it's hard for us to get value on our own terms.

Maybe I'm way wrong, I'm pretty tired atm.

this seems like a rly rly rly close fold imo

edit : actually, since i think it s a fold maybe it s not close lol
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
