    Default Exploiting TAG cbets

Assume villain is a weak/average TAG. Stats like 29/18/1.8, folds to 3bets, doesn't play back light, adjusts poorly. How often should be making plays like this with air, and what kind of hands are we balancing?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB ($34.95)
    UTG ($64.10)
    MP ($50.10)
    CO ($68.25)
    Hero ($51.10)
    SB ($29.50)

Preflop: Hero is Button with AIR.
2 folds, CO raises to $2, Hero calls $2, 2 folds.

    Flop: ($4.75) 7, 2, 5 (2 players)
CO bets $3, Hero raises to $8.5, CO calls $5.50.

    Turn: ($21.75) 4 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $12, CO calls $12.

    River: ($45.75) 4 (2 players)
    CO checks, Hero checks.

    Final Pot: $45.75
My sig is too much for you to handle.

I don't like your turn bet for a couple of reasons - 1. there's a lot of good scare cards to bet that could land on the river. Probably better to check the turn behind and bet clubs, sixes, threes, eights (maybe also fives and sevens) on the river. 2. It's not a serious bet size. His call of your flop raise says that if you're going to second barrel the turn, it needs to be hefty. That bet size only works if you intend it as a setup to push the river, and you didn't follow through.

    In answer to your question:
    - I prefer doing this sort of thing on a board with one non-ace big card (a king or queen if possible). Semi-bluff raises are so prevalent that he's going to be suspicious of that raise sizing on this particular board, and he's certainly going to want to run you down if he has an overpair and no more scare cards pop out.
    - I also prefer 3-betting these types light and giving them the occasional check-raise when you call their late position raise from the blinds. Raising in position like this is OK too but I think the other plays are higher percentage because they convey more strength and specifically attack bets that are somewhat more likely to be weak.
    - What you are balancing: medium-strength overpairs, sets (though a set would undoubtedly make a bigger turn bet and probably a bigger flop raise on this board), maybe 8c9c.

You are repping a pretty thin range. Also I think the turn bet needs to be bigger if you are repping a set. Since you really rep a draw with the weak turn bet, you need to post oak the river like 1/2 PSB.

Nevermind, just saw stack sizes. I give up or push river. Leaning toward giving up b/c he's probably calling you down anyway here.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

you dont do this on boards like this for the same reason you dont cbet a flop like 89Jhh into two people unless you have a piece.

i like how you continued your bluff on a near-total blank but then not on a great scare card.

That river is like the best card ever to shove on.

I like to do something like this to taggs who have either very high cbet% (75+) or very low cbet% (40 and under). The former I like to float & bet the turn when they check (unless they have a high turn bet% in which case I'll pop up the flop). The latter are honest and will bet when they hit and c/f when they miss.

Board texture changes these default plays up. Also, I don't like just calling pre with ATC...I wanna have at least something like a SC or Axs or a one gapper or something with a shred of potential.
