Default $5 - How bad did I play this?

This was 3 hands in and opponent was 67/33 for what that's worth. I put him on a hand like AJ-AK. Looking back, I realize I should just check behind on the river with the flush and straight draw out there, but I felt I was ahead here. Anybody else making the play on the river here?

My thoughts would be as follows:

You kind of answered it yourself. With the possible flush, straight, and even trip card out there (if he had a4 and was raising loose), I would probably check behind. When you're betting, you probably don't want a call, but still feel like your hand has value. The only hand he is calling here that you have beat is 99,88, a7. Every other call/raise is probably with a better hand.

I would check and be content to win a decent sized pot as it is (or check and be happy you checked the river with the worse hand)

Check behind on the turn and call a reasonably sized bet.

As played, I check behind on the river and try to show this hand down without putting any more chips in. As Sakuraba said, there are only a few hands that opp might call your bet with that you beat.

Lead the turn stronger, theres a lot of combo draws that can call there getting 3/1. 5x should definetly not be in villians range and if he has a flush draw + overs on the flop, why did he check? I'm not worried about the flop call at all really...villian seems like a donk who would chase here with AJ-AK, KJ-KQ etc. I think your right about checking behind on the river, there arent a lot of hands that you can get more value out of

the hand is played fine until the river.. there's no point in betting the river because

    a) the chaser either missed or hit the river.. if he missed he folds, if he hit you lose money by betting..
    b) they're not calling a 3rd bet with a lower PP..

    just check behind..
