Preflop: Hero is SB with A, A.
8 folds, Hero raises to t40, BB raises to t1500, Hero calls t1460 (All-In).

    Flop: (t3010) 2, 4, 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Turn: (t3010) 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t3010) T (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: t3000

The minraise was to get a few more chips into what figured to be a tiny pot anyways, and then he shoves over to my absolute delight. Is the minraise the fault in this hand?

Personally I hate min-raising AA. You give your opponent reason to call with a lot hands. It's a dangerous game: you have to accept sometimes your aces are going to get cracked (although there is an interesting risk-reward ratio here). I rarely use a min-raise tactic myself, since it often seems to get me in trouble. The only time I use it is when I am reasonably sure an aggressive opponent will come over the top.

Personally here in the same situation I'm making it 3x-4x the bb and taking it from there.

Yeah unless yoy have a clear read, that Opp is very agg, then I would raise what nakamura says.

Yep, I agree with the others - 80 to go preflop. If he's so much of a maniac to shove over your open raise, he'll shove over regardless of whether you minraise or raise 80.

Thanks. I didn't know he was a maniac, because it was the first hand of the tourney, but I'll be sure to make a legit raise next time. Vill had 22, and I lost, obv -.-...
