200NL: BvB, aggressive reg

    Default 200NL: BvB, aggressive reg

    Villain is HerrPferd.

I've got him at 26/21/5.8. I've also got him stealing AND cbetting about 40% of the time. My plan was to bet when he checked to me, but his bet & the flop kinda changed that...

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG ($200)
    MP ($533.80)
    CO ($148.90)
    Button ($137.60)
    SB ($249.20)
    Hero ($200)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6, 9.
4 folds, SB raises to $8, Hero calls $6.

    Flop: ($17) 8, 7, 6 (2 players)
SB bets $9, Hero raises to $28

I thought this was standard if he cbets a lot more, but his lead led me to believe he actually had SOMETHING, just probably not enough to stand up to a raise.

IMO, an aggressive reg leading that small probably means he wants a raise and to 3bet with a real hand. I think he stacks with most overPPs on this board.
I take my good odds and call the flop bet. You can always float since you have plenty of outs although I prefer chking back and hoping to hit an out.

I was thinking about this hand on the drive to work, and I came to the same conclusion. I'm not really sure why I raised in the heat of the moment. I wouldn't have been all that happy stacking off here, and I did have position...

Flop is a call though and I doubt you're making money on the preflop call.

    ^ classic pic IMO

I don't like the blind defense either. That hand is soooo weak that it seems like a good spot to 3-bet or fold (mostly fold). If it was sooooted or connected it would be more defensible.

Really? I feel like I've had pretty good results calling notorious blind stealers with a wide range in position in BvB situations. Specifically ones who have either very high, or relatively low c-bet frequencies.

Ya its very profitable to call IP vs these players. But calling w/ 50% of hands is probably pushing it a bit too far.

Pre-flop is standard for me if it was suited.

Flop raise is kind of splashy, but sometimes I do that as well.

/agree with mcat that your opponent could be c-betting pretty much his entire range on the flop.

I was only speaking about if our raise gets 3bet. I guess my first response sounds like I'm expecting a 3bet, but I was responding to this tidbit:

I ztill think villain stacks off light in BvB and that probably kills most of our fold equity, so I call flop and hope to hit an out.
