NL 25 FR: Exactly how bad is it for me to buy in for half?

Default NL 25 FR: Exactly how bad is it for me to buy in for half?

I am slightly (to moderately...) underrolled for 25, and don't want to buy in for $50 at a FT deep table. The deep tables are for sure where I want to be though as they are more active and the stacks are usually $25 or greater. (whereas normal tables have 2-4 stacks under $10.)

Anyway, I'm just wondering which is more profitable for me right now: buy in for half at a deep table or buy in the full amount ($25) at a normal table?

$360. I know I know. Thats 7 BI at $50 and 14 at $25. But oh well. Going good so far I'm close to being BR'd anyway and can make myself move down if I have to.

but you can see why I don't want to buy in for the max now!

So you want to buyin for $25 or a 200bb 25nl table? I can't stop you, but it isn't a good idea. Your gonna have no room for any variance before having to drop. And do you know how you need to adjust your game at a deep table?

TBH, I think it's a recipe for disaster. You would be much better off grinding for another week or so and getting a BR of $500-$600 and playing 25nl properly imo.

buyin 100bb deep at whatever tables you choose - chances are you don't know how to play deep yet. And grind another few buyins at 10nl first

hang on - don't open yr ft account until you have 600 to max out the first deposit bonus!

do you know what optimal strategy is for a 50bbs buy in?
If you dont, play 10nl for 100bbs and dont play under rolled or you will bust
If you havent got the patience to wait until you are fully rolled to play a game, it say a lot about your attitude to poker overall IMO

It's extremely, extremely, extremely bad for you to buy in for half.

As an alternative, I would suggest playing 10nl with 100bb stacks.

As an aside, I would look into getting rakeback added to your Full Tilt account if you don't have it already.

I hope I have answered your question.

    Good luck.

Yo uhhh isn't he saying he wants to buy in for 100BB at a deep table, which = half buyin? IMO that's fine, your effective stack will be the same as if you bought in full at a regular table, and when you make money, then you adjust to deeper play.

However 14 BI's is not good. Get a job or something.

True enuf. However, that's something I totally overlook because I wouldn't even consider that. If poker isn't profitable, I quit. If i have to pay to play, fuck that!

well i just mean that in the short term if he beats 25nl for a decent rate then it's going to be more profitable to do that than to play at 10nl and if he has more money to commit to poker then it essentially counts as his bankroll. It's just a thought, I personally wouldn't play so under-rolled either...
