    ...Good Question........Where am I?

    Default WELLROUNDED-Operation: Suck less

    Quick Poker Background:
Started out around early August give or take a few weeks. Wandered aimlessly around the poker world for a week or two, then found FTR. After loosing 1 or 2 Deposits pre FTR, I deposited 1 last time. From which my Current BR has grown.

2NL proved tedious, although, I'm certain it was because while playing it I was learning everything. Starting hands, Position, Stack size importance, and the like. All of the basics.

5NL lasted like 13K hands or something. I really felt great about it, and running hot didn't hurt.

10NL Started like 5NL. I was making a few BI's every session. And then, in the first 30 Min.s of a session, I lost 5BI's. 2 were Suckouts, 3 were major coolers. I derailed at this point. I continued to roller Coaster. Eventually found my self back down to 250$ from my high point of 400$. This coaster ride included a little 25NL. Obviously a concept I had/have yet to grasp is self control. Anyway. I have since slowly regained to about 314 where i currently stand. I have really come to undertand alot I believe. I still Suck! I'm fully aware of that. I do however feel more effected by my play and not about the outcome of my sessions, and I think that has really made a difference. Anyway, once i get HEM purchased I will comeback with some stats. EDIT: I was playing 9 tables. I have for the time being switched to 4. I feel I can better understand villains habits and better put them on ranges. I don't use any HUD, and it helps with that. It's a slower grind, I'm aware, but I feel it's a better one for now.

I play exclusively at Stars at the moment. My SN is Rounded08. I learn most of what I learn from the helpful crew at IRC #flopturnriver. And the BC here at FTR.-Spoonformod 08!

    Goals:
I don't currently have set goals of 100K or anything like that. My goal is somewhat broad. I want to work to get better, and I want to move up to 25NL, and for the time being that will be enough to focus on at 1 time without giving myself a time table.

One thing here is that your main focus right now shouldn't be to increase your hourly ( ), or to make it to 25nl etc as quick as possible. Your main focus should be to get better and understand the game, which I know you are currently trying to do, and are doing a very good job so far.

As far as the downswing goes, you have to become hardened to it and not let it effect you, as I'm sure you will learn. As you know I recently had a little downswing. And although it was only 7 buyins, and those happen quite often, it was finally at stakes where the money felt incredibly significant. I mean who likes to walk around knowing they lost $700 in a single day? Not I! But you just have to step back and realize it is no longer $700 to you. It is merely 7 buyins and that is normal. And remind yourself that if you are better than your villains (which you are), then you will win in the long run what you have lost plus more. Downswings are inevitable, and the more you have the more you learn to accept them.

Keep plugging away well, and you'll get there really soon.

Hey Stax, I really appreciate that. I agree daven, I agree.

Today I had 3 sessions. 1.5-2 hours in length each. And TBH it stunk. I did ok in my first(up less than a full BI), my second started like thisVERY first hand)

    Villain EP: Bet
    Hero LP: call (QQ)

    Flop: KQ4r
    bet/raises to AI. Villain (KK)-Cooler.

So obviously that wasn't great. The session ended about -1 BI. overall.
My third went better. a couple early bad beats, but that's just life. I recovered, and ended the day up a few bucks. So I can't complain too much. I had one HH at the very end that I was curious about:

    http://www.pokerhand.org/?3253441

Take a look. Villain was pretty tight. I couldn't figure out what he had here besides AA, KK, or a set. I mean, he seemed good enough to recognize that a 3 bet is almost always KK+.

Two sessions today, 1 very short one, because it didn't take me long to realize I wasn't playing well. And second one where I just turned on some slower music, closed out distracting programs, and just concentrated on reads, notes, and doing the math while I played. I did will made up for my first session, and +1 BI from that. BR sitting at 325 now.

    Fuck microstakes slowplaying morons.

EDIT: I'm not bitching. I'll make it back, but sucking this much means I'm retarded. So obv. that's the dissapointing part.

    Currnent: 300$

I've had alot of information really come togother for me lately. I've thought for the last week or so that I was starting to play loose aggressive, but I've realized that I am still in no way "loose" I've just opened my game up appropriately. I've slowly but surely started to learn how to fold. I've learned how to really put people on ranges according to their play style. Anyway, like I said, I've learned all this before, but it's really come togother recently. Anyway, we'll see how this develops in my BR in the following weeks.

    Current BR: 333$

I could talk about the multiple set under sets and set vs my TPTK vs fish hands etc etc, and I could talk about the fact that I feel I played well, but it's like w/e. Anyone reading this doesn't wanna hear that. I'll be back again w/ a BR update.
