Ethernet Question
Hey guys.
I has a question!
Right now, there is a hole in my baseboard. From this, comes my internet tube. It runs about one foot, into this little white box.
the box is about an inch by an inch. On the other side, there is a port, that I stick my ethernet tube into. this Ethernet tube goes into my PC, where I enjoy the internets.
All is well. However, there is a new player. Across the room, there is my xbox 360. I spend $25 on about 100 feet of ethernet cable that wraps around my room.
When I want internet for my 360, I unplug my PC ethernet cable, from the 1x1" box with the port, and stick in my 360 ethernet cable.
Internet goes to my 360, stops going into my PC.
I figure, with all this manual switching, I might damage my box, or the ends of my ethernet cords. Also, I just got a new desk that weighs about 400 pounds, and there isn't space behind it to always be pulling out internet cords, and putting them back in.
What I need is some sort of switch.
------[box]o ==================
Thats my situation. One internet cord from router, elsewhere in the house, that feeds into One box, and I have two ethernet cables.
should i use a switch.. a hub?
