Default i need a good news show

well actually what i want is a great news show, but i figure it's unlikely one exists. anyways

i been watching glenn beck, he's okay, he has good pundits on economic issues, but it seems that he's irrational on almost all other issues, as well as a religious nutjob. his show is formatted well tho

also been watching lou dobbs, hes decent too, but i find that the show doesnt wield as much critical thought as it professes to. plus he sounds like a vacuum

daily show is awesome no doubt, and colbert is good, but those are comedies as you know. also it pisses me off that colbert is a greedy republican douche (he says libertarian but eh), albeit a very funny one.

so what news shows should i check out

Just listen to All Things Considered on NPR, watch The Daily Show and read lots of different sources online. Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs are horrible imo. And you do realize that Colbert is satirizing right-wing nutjobs like Bill O'Reilly right?

The Colbert Report is a satire. I'm really shocked you couldn't figure that out.

ummm, since when is Colbert a republican? You do realize that his show is satire, right? That he is making fun of the right, and that he is not really a loudmouthed blowhard like O'Reilly, but is instead making fun of him.

jesus guys i said in the op that colbert is a comedy show. read it again.

yes he jokes on everybody, just like a satire does, but in exactly the same way you can tell that jon stewart supports obama you can see that colbert supports mccain.

    OMG.

    Dear Wufwugy:

The whole point of Stephen Colbert's existance, is to show how silly the Republican party is.

Colbert's support for McCain is so over zealous that it can do nothing but deflate the opinion of McCain for the viewership.

The Colbert show is WRITTEN by the same guys who write the Daily show. It's 100% satire.

id like to chalk this up to a time in which i am wrong. it is very clear that the show is a satire, but i was unaware that the character colbert is meant as a satire himself. his overzealousness is obvious, but it's the little things along with the lack of knowledge that the character is satire that threw me off.

my impression up till now has been that colbert the host plays the same role on colbert report as stewart the host plays on daily show. apparently thats not true.

silly that the thread went this direction. i only mentioned those shows because i knew if i didnt then somebody else would somewhat as a jopke. jopke's on me imo
