I don't feel like writing a whole bio and explanation in here so I'll sum it up the best way I can.

I haven't been as serious about poker since I started as I would like to.
I haven't worked on fixing leaks as much as I should
I haven't been asking advice as much as I should
I haven't been focusing on improving my game every time I play.

This is going to change. I went crazy in December and played like 4 to 6 hours a day during my break, compared to my 10 hours or so a WEEK before that. I was just too busy with college to put in that much time. I don't think I was ready for playing that much and since I came back to school at the beginning of January I haven't played yet. This gives me a chance to start new in 2009. I'm going to try to fix all those things above over the course of how ever long it takes me to do that.

Every post I make will focus on one thing I need to learn or improve.

Starting with something basic that I need to finalize:
Making notes on players
I do take a lot of notes on players, their stats, and their behaviors, but it hasn't been as organized as I would like it to be. I'm a very systematic and methodical person when it comes to things like this and I like having a uniform template so I can focus on what I need at that time and don't get lost in the rest.

That's where you guys come in. I'm asking as many people as possible to post here about how they take notes on players, what information they think is most important, and what format they use, including shorthand and stuff like that. My hope is that I can stimulate conversation about note taking in online poker while I learn from the best, taking all the things I see and combining them into the system I will use to take notes on players.

I use PokerAce, so the statistics part of note taking is taken care of, what I would like to be able to incorporate and get better at is making concise, clear notes about how players play certain hands, what hands they play and don't play, and things like that.
