Default 2/4 ATs on BTN facing turn 3bet

    so he's a reg 20/16 but AF 8.9 ! (1.6k sample)

i think i like checking this flop, many will CR air, and i think his range mainly includes pairs, sc's and sometimes broadways. when he leads here I sort of depend on this AF figure and think he leads here with a lot of drawy hands and hands with a T in it so i felt a lot of hands I'm ahead of would have to call here.

am i supposed to fold 100% here to his 3bet? how often would he do this putting me on some sort of drawy hand like Ax spades, JQ etc.

However, as villain is very aggro you have to call river.

anymore info on this hand? does anyone think this is a clear fold to the 3bet on the turn, can you ever call and then fold on the river?

if you flat, why are you flatting this turn and then what's your line on the river? are you flatting to get good value from weaker T hands, where opp will assume we are on a draw and he'll c/c a large river bet here?

your turn raise is like 2.5x, so villain (esp one with this high of an AF) can think you are just trying a cheap bluff. I call turn/call river as played because he can play alot of PP's like this. Just call the turn though if you dont want to get into this situation.

Question to ask yourself on the turn is, why are you raising it? If it's to induce some spewy play from him then you're obligated to call. If you think this player is pretty straightforward and doesn't get out of line too much then maybe you should consider just calling the turn since it's unlikely you get much action from weaker hands. If he is the type to auto-fire any turn if you check behind flop, it's probably better just to call to let him spew some more on the river (Unless you are raising to stack off).

I'm not sure whether a worse made hand plays like this. And I'm not sure he could ever be bluffing with this line. It's just kinda weird spot. I probably call if I don't think he's a good player, since if he's not a good player he will likely overestimate relative hand strength and value bet worse. If he's good though, and I didn't think he was trying to level me, which it just doesn't appear to be happening here, it's probably a fold.

basically i assumed his lead on the turn is a really wide range, and i also assumed that if i raise he can pay it with a fairly wide range in terms of draws as well as made hands like weaker top pairs. basically i was thinking i was raising for value here.

in a lot of cases I would just flat here, to bet a checked river, or to call if i feel they are bluffing rivers as well.

i guess one way to look at it this way is if this guy is pretty aggro (AF 8.9) then do i really want to build a much bigger pot in this spot when he could be making some pretty big semi bluffs or other plays? i think the answer is no. next time i'll keep it small and easy to play.

    he had set 4's
