    Default Operation: TerryToma III

So I'm back. I couldn't stay gone for long (although I made it a few years). Current goals are to get back on track playing winning poker, and to build a bankroll enough to get back to 100NL by 2/2010.

I'm currently 6 tabling 25NL Full Ring, and loving it. It took me about 5k hands and re-reading no-limit holdem book by miller & slansky. I'll keep updating this post with my overall winning graph.

All comments welcome, FTR really helped build my bankroll back in 2005/2006 due to excellent discussions.[/url]

    10k Checkup

    Stats:
    VPIP: 16.7 PFR: 10.41

    A few questions:
    1. Am I just running bad, or am I just not getting it all in enough with semi-bluffs (regarding the big separation between green and blue lines.

    2. Am I being too aggressive post flop or am I getting bluffed off hands too easily? (regarding the large difference between $ won without showdown and $ won with showdown).

Hi TerryToma - Welcome back... I had wondered a few times where you had gone off too. I don't have much to comment on poker-wise. I'll leave that to the thinking players. gl.

Well... I will say this: it'll be more helpful to see your positional stats, your tree-betting, stl %, etc... it's really impossible to judge by your graf.
So you click their picture and then you get their money?

Thanks for the warm welcome back. I'm near my 20k hand mark at 25NL. Essentially breaking even. Still trying to sort out my game. I think I may be c-betting too much and stealing blinds a bit too agressively. This game is played straight forward for the most part. It certainly has a lot less fish.

I tend to run better when I'm making reads on people, and not trying to play cookbook poker.......

Right now i'm 4-6 tabling 25NL/PL.. also re-reading Renton's posts. I haven't quite got my head around the ABCD theorom. And also I'm re-reading the Miller/Slansky holdem book that helped me a lot a few years back...

Welcome back TT. Your checkups really do need to be stats based not graph based. Todays games have really changed though and you will win more money postflop(with handreading) rather than by fixing preflop & early street leaks. Those stats do need addressing though to start your game on a solid platform.
That said, your red line on the graphs above means you are not aggro enough to win money without showing down your hands. You likely need to steal more blinds and cbet/double barrel more. Semi-bluff more and don't build big pots without strong hands or large chunks of equity, that way you won't have to fold if you have put more than 30% of your stack in. These are skills that take some getting used to. I wouldn't just start 2barrelling every hand IP or you'll start spewing. You are running a little bad on your all ins though. The first graph shows that you are approx. 4 BI behind after putting it all in. So your hands are not holding up or you are not sucking out your fair share. 4 BIs over 10K hands isn't too bad though.
    Good luck,

Thanks, good to hear from you courtie bee! Silly string -- thanks for the insightful. It captures the change and evolution of online poker. My stats aren't a whole lot different from when I left back in late '06, but my win rate sure is awful compared.

Some of it may be me getting back in the habit of making reads, but money was just flowing in my direction back in the day. My graph and winrate was unbelievable. I was playing a 20/10 game against worst players for the most part. I've tightened up a bit, and I can no longer data-mine before sitting down at the table like I used to as well...

I feel pretty good about my show-down win rate, but the fact I'm losing money without showing down either means I'm folding too much, not aggressive enough, or too aggressive. It seems to be a combination of all of the above, the answer really depends on the situation and opponent.

I'm near my 20k hand mark, I'll post those once I get there (likely late next week).

The only way your red line plummets if you are too aggressive is if you fold. If you are very aggro and then get AI the red line will not move since it represents money earned without showdown.
