I'll add more on to this later, but the first step is simply this.

Make $100 so I can cash out of FT and move it to a better site such as PS. I started with $50, hit a horrible run back down to $19, so with these $19 I will grind my way up with $2-$5 NL until I reach my target, then cash out and put it with my other BR at PS so start the next grind to $1000 and then start Bonus Whoring.

Good luck Arcadian, just make sure you get your money in when you think you're a clear favourite, stay away from marginal spots at 2nl and you'll be good. You don't need to coin-flip down here, there are far better ways to get your money in good. GL!

Hey man good luck. I'm in the same process you are right now. I started out with $10 in November and I am currently sitting on $122, although there is a friend I keep loaning money to via pokerstars that is going to ship me the ~$40 so hopefully will be $162 soon .

Anyways, 2nl is a bitch, took me forever (~2.5 months) to get out of. January was a bitch of a month though, breakeven for 10-12k hands. Don't let those stretches of cold cards get you down, and before you know it you will be right up there grinding the mid-stakes (or so I hope ).

Yeah, I started today and after 5 hands was up 5 buy-ins. I hit some rough spots and now I'm down to 1/2 buy-in. I'll play more later, just need to cool down.

I know it won't last but wow what a great night. I should have kept playing since the money was good but it's late and school comes first.

Up 8 buyins in 30 mins. Guy shoved every hand at a 6 max and I folded until I hit my AQos+ 99+ and won 80% of the flips, pretty simple. Gonna have to add him to my favorites.

Which brings me to my next point. How do you find fish in your PT statistics?

I just filter for VPIP% and make sure that I have 50+ hands on them before I start thinking its accurate.

I'd say at 2nl it's not really about finding fish, more about finding regs, just keep an eye out for the rocks (at FR I find at least one per table) pretty much everyone else should be easy money for you! Nice work on those 8 buyins, a great day. You're making good progress keep it up =)

Yeah, I thought I would update.

I gave up on the FT, trying to get my money out of there now. I just decided to play on PS as they are rapid fast at getting your money when requested, plus there's always a game.

It's been going well. Only played about 7,000 hands but I'm up 11 buy ins. Hit a couple of coolers but I think 11 buy ins isn't too shabby. I think it could be more but I have to find my really obvious leaks. Once I hit my 10k mark I'll post up my chart.

Playing $5NL and have only logged about 2000 hands but I'm up 2 and a half buy-ins. I'm playing about 8 tables at a time and I'm not sure if I'm losing opportunities or not. I guess I'll have to post a hand history or something of some of my hands.

Is 6 max pretty profitable at this level? I've been looking at some other people's ops and their BB/100 is like 25/100.

I'm at 6ptbb/100 and I think that's pretty damn good but 25ptbb/100, wowee!!

Day 4. Hit some rotten luck running into flushes with my straights and boats with my flushes, but after grinding a bit more I still pushed into the positives.

So my crap luck finally ran out and good one started coming in. I had to make a couple of hero calls, but luckily I made the correct decision and now I'm rolled for $10 NL.

I haven't played much recently, mostly because of the fact that finals are here, but once that's finished I'll have nothing to do but play poker all summer all day long live and online so hopefully within a month I'll be rolled for $25nl and then $50 shortly after.

YES! Finals are finished, I have my degree in French Linguistics so I'm ready to play poker! That's fine though as in my country I would make more playing poker than doing a regular job anyway.

Hopefully my next post will be showing $100+ profits in a few days.

So here's an update.

Played a lot of hands recently and unlocked a nice bonus giving me another 5 buy-ins. My BB/100 has dropped considerably but that's to be expected 15 tabling, I'm still doing very well averaging at about 6bb/100 so I'm not complaining especially since I play 3k+ a day.

I keep it down to 6-10 tables since I moved up and it seems to be doing me fine, but its really how risk averse you are I guess. Nice work on building up the roll!

Ah, good ol' variance. Of course it occurs once I reach 25NL. I would like to blame it on the fact that I just wasn't a good enough player to beat it, but I did the right moves, just had a bad result that's all. However, after dropping back down to $10NL, I have a steady recovery.

I'm going to wait for another 5BIs next time also, so I'll play at 25BI instead of 20 this time.
