    Default minbet raise obv?

This is probably the saddest hand of my night. Comments welcome. Pre I probably should be 3 betting, but for flop it's value. wtf with turn donk min bet action? I mean if he checks turn i'm likely checking behind but if he bets min, i feel compelled to raise.

    Pre-flop: ($1.50, 6 players) Hero is BTN
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $4, 1 fold, Hero calls $4, 2 folds

    Flop: ($9.50, 2 players)
    UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $6, UTG+1 calls $6

    Turn: ($21.50, 2 players)
    UTG+1 bets $1, $1 to Hero ($95.85)?

I wouldn't 3 bet preflop. Call his 1 dollar bet and see what happens on the river.
Flopping quads and boats like its my job

Why do you feel compelled to raise the turn? The only hand this would be correct against would be like a flush draw, one that he had to have backed into. A raise is very likely to fold out 66-88 (maybe not if he's bad). I doubt he bet/calls Ahi with all that often, so a raise isn't for value, and given his bet and your pot odds, there is absolutely no reason to bluff. Call, and re-evaluate river.

Why? Just treat it as a check and do as you normally would.

no real reason to raise the turn. just call and see what his action is on the river

I don't see a real reason to bet the flop. And if I felt extremely compelled to, I would be betting like 3$ just to kinda irritate him since when he checks he's repping that he's either giving up or that he has a king and doesn't think he can get called by worse, or has like A high and doesn't think he can get called by worse.

As galapagos stated, treat the minbet like a check. The rest of the advice in this thread is good imo.

I agree in most instances. The way OP described his actions, I suppose OP is doing this for value, and happens to know villain is going to check/call Ahi, low pps, etc. If that's the case, then vbetting 99 on the flop isn't bad imo. However, it's also fine to check it back obv.

ty for replies, I guess I played it right mostly.
In reviewing the hand I felt that calling turn set me up for the river which was not an easy spot to be in. If I raise turn I thought he might have folded a weak king, but if i call the min I show my hand isn't strong and allow 100% of his range to bet river into me.

    Final Pot: $23.50

    UTG+1 wins $39.40 ( won +$11.40 )
    Hero lost -$11

People that take this line with a king don't fold when you raise the turn.
