    Default Sl4y3rs micro struggle

Hi guys this is my first post in along time, since then i have played 6 months or more of break even poker as i havent made a deposit this year. Mainly playing 3.40 s&gs and mtts with ring games thrown in 25nl hugely underrolled. Some how whenever i get under $10 id manage to grind up again.

After reading all the beginners section stickies i decided to take on 2nl properly, after running insanely good for a few days i also bought holdem manager micro from my roll which was almost ready for 5nl. I kept grinding at 2nl and was still running well (my stats over 8000 hands are 44/bb prob too good?). I decided to take a shot at 5nl underolled with $75 in my account.

As the poker gods may have it ive run into a spot of varience and have made some bad decisions against players who will play anycards to suck out on a big pair against the odds. Sometimes i just play bad, which costs so much more. Now im back down to $58 so im dropping down to 2nl again, the play at 5nl just seems so much more aggressive.

I put myself out here because i hope the regulars that post will tell me how terrible i play and whip me into shape. I've already learnt so much from you guys by just reading posts, Id really like to thank everyone here! Now I think its time to state some public goals, this time im sticking to them.

    My goals

Play 2nl untill my roll is $100
Post some hands that ive found troublesome
Post my plugging leaks stats from hem
Post some graphs to show you guys my progress
Work and learn my ass off :P

Anyone can USE the converter tool. You just can't post URLs in our forum until you've reached 10 posts -- which means link to the converted page or post the converted images (URLs). A minor inconvenience, imo. Posting raw HHs is alright until you reach 10 posts.

Played a great session lastnight started with 2 tables and added in another 2 when i found some live ones. Made a few bad bet/calls on the river which cost me when they were slowplaying. I still ran well, and managed to push through a few tilty moments. BR $72.91

Its been a few weeks since i last posted, been meaning to post a few graphs to document my progress. Ive been playing 5nl at 2 tables, running ok i guess im up about $60 for the month for 5000 hands. Starting to get more comfortable 3-4 tabling which seems to be helping my tilt/boredom issues also.. Currently running -1.8bb/100 in HEM (is this ptbb? i dunno) @ 5nl recouping past losses isnt much fun, cant wait to get into the clear. Roll is @ $201

Heres my 5nl graph, most of the losses were a few months ago before i started my 2nl operation so im quite happy about it.

    My total graph

    Thanks for reading mablog!

    Nice post.

Good to see you are winning.

Most people at this level think on level one (their own hand). If you think at level 2 (their hand) you can take advantage of the information they give you and attack their weakness on turn and river.

Supertight/superaggressive made me 10PTB/100 when I started playing micro cash. I was astounded how they could call me even If my range was ultra strong.

Hand1 : Money went in good (Profitable)
Hand 2: Read dependant. With no information about villain I will never fold KK here.

I took a shot 10nl yesterday and had some success, seems exactly the same if not fisher than 5nl :P +2BI. Also finished 10th in a $2.2 1024 4-max shootout for $46 straight after my cash session, was quite fun after i worked out how much i can get away with stealing pots. Minbets FTW!

Roll is now @ $295 hellyea

Moved to VC poker a few days ago to take advantage of a 300% bonus offer upto $600.So I took 20BIs and have nearly worked off $15 in 3.3k hands of 10nl. Im playing @ -1.18 bb/100 so im a little over breakeven. The shortstacks here are bad but there are so many of them compared to stars, anyone know how many SSers per table before i should leave? average seems to be 5x20bb stacks and one other fullstack.

Also finished 4th in the FTR300 on stars for $50.60 Thanks guys hopefully ill be a 'valued member' soon enough
    Roll is @ $325

Running alittle better on VC 4.11 bb/100 over 5000hands here and have earnt $20 in bonus. The only problem is really the (bad) shortstackers plague here, allin 55 reload etc. Im not losing money but im sure i could make abit more if some of these guys wanted to play some poker.... why would ipoker let them in with $1 min? seems like theres alot less SSers at 20nl here but i only have $350 in my roll atleast im getting better at playing these guys and i get to go allin pf more often lol

Just had a soul crushing session. I lost flips, nothing got paid off, then played bad. Was up alittle in the first 500hands then lost the plot. 230hands -3BIs. Im going to have a serious think about my game and post some stats tomorrow.

lost another stack playing AK poorly against a flopped set which is one of my biggest leaks. I need to stop sucking..

Hi guys, I havent updated in a long time because i've been making some big life changes. The biggest change is finding myself a full time job working at the helpdesk of a local ISP, now im doing 40+hours a week for the first time in my life(i'm 23). Its been tough going from unemployed to full time but its the best thing I could've done and has improved my life and poker already. All of a sudden I dont have the same attachment to my stack and can concentrate on playing better!

I really haven't had much time to play or post, I am starting to miss the grind so hopefully I can get the motivation to play a few hours everyday over the next few weeks.

This month ive played around 2000 hands at 10nl for $48.45, I aim to play around 5k hands this month. Then maybe 5-10k next month. Im in no rush but would love to make it to 25nl by May.

Its also great to see the other micro grinders doing so well, too many to name. But its great to read all of your blogs when I get a spare moment from work, keep it up.

Thanks for reading Rolls is @ $382.58

    Hi Everyone,

Again its been so long since ive posted its embarrassing, apologies to all the regs here that put so much back in. I keep taking but I want to make an effort to post and discuss some(any) hands.

That aside I do have some good results to post, I took a shot at 25nl when my BR hit $500 as I was going to reload for bonus anyway. The reload didn't happen but things are going well for me at 25nl, I’ve only played 3000 hands mainly 1-2 tabling to adjust to the betting and aggression at the new stake. I’ve been coolered a few times but keep making BI's, its heatertown! My roll is now $693, for now I will keep 2-4 tabling 25nl and will see how it goes. Ill drop down again at $500 or so if I need to.

    A Graph & Stats

I want to thank all of the regs who post day in day out to help everyone, theres gold all through this forum if people are willing to put in the time. Also to Pig_Vomit thanks for the reply on my last post, can't believe I didn't see you..cheers mate

Quick update since its been forever. Don't expect anyone to read but its great to record my progress.

    1. Played 50k hands at 25nl up and down really, ended up a 2BB/100 winner.
    2. Quit ISP job after 6 months, it was the worst kindof grind. Busy 3man helpdesk jobs suck in so many ways. Rather do odd jobs and labour tyvm.
    3. Joined grinderschool for 3 months full subscription about 35k hands into 25nl, learnt a thing or two. Then played/ran well the last 15k hands.
    5. Moved upto 50nl when bankroll hit $1250 hooray!, this was two days ago.
    6. Running good so far 8.5BB/100 over the first 3k hands at 50nl FTP, am now moving back to stars to grind the reload bonus.
    7. BR $1525 + RB Due in a few days.

Also good to see everyone doing well with their ops! Keep it up GL
