    Default Over Bets

was playing some 50 nl on full tilt the other day and was constantly being over bet. most of the time it was on the flop. but i was wondering how some better players would handle an over bet. personally i think it usuaully means streth in cash games. is there ever a reason to do it? i usually fold to them because its so not worth it to call

Depends on the player and board texture whether I think he's doing it for value, to price himself in on a shove if he's on a marginal hand, or strictly bluff.

I do it all the time since most people at my level haven't located their fold button yet and will call and draw incorrectly pretty frequently.

i overbet for value vs fish at FT 50nl when they are dumb enough to call, and sometimes when they are not. I overbet big draws sometimes when I think fold equity + outs makes it +EV. I call overbets sometimes, and fold sometimes. Depends on villain's range blah blah blah

against fish with a very face up hand, i like to overbet

say we're IP with 22 on an A72 flop. when we bet turn and river, 90%+ of his calling range is an ace. against a fish i'll overbet here and get paid off all the time
