100NL, wtf? should i give him much credit for a big hand?

UTG villian is a 11/8/3 nitty regular( 3 bet% is 3%). I underrep my hand preflop. Should i have to shove over on this flop vs UTG this tight or give him credit and make a ridiculous nitty fold?

this is touch and go. firstly, you made a bad call of 4.. you should re raise 3x here... then see what UTG does.. if he calls.. he prob has TT or JJ.. if he re raises preflop, your proably toast...but u could still call this and see a flop...on the flop calling or folding is correct.. you made it harder for yourself because you didnt re raise preflop so you have less information.

even if he is all in for 29 because you most likely in front... He is short stacked for 29 behind.. u cant really fold now because the pots so big and you have commited yourself.. short stacked SBs and BBs do that all the time with any pocket pair or AJ+..so if it was just u and the SB dont even worry, u always call and pocket pair here. UTG may be thinking this as well, which is why he calls ... Im putting the UTG on TT or JJ to which ur in front.

If UTG he is slow playing AA or KK to induce your call bad luck... But since he has only called the SB your pre- flop call is 100% correct.

His bet is one of two things...

He bets into you to protect his hand against the flush draw... OR.. may have hit a set which sucks.. or have AK suited.

I think your better to call here in terms of long term gain...29 dollars to win 118 pot, your pot odds are 3/1, this is definitely good enough to call this board. You cant jsut put in 20 and fold for 29 more on flop IF that is all he has left.... statistically you will always be behind if you fold here.. plus you still have outs if your behind. What did he show here?

I think u should have r/r pre. Villian just calling makes me think middle pair maybe AA,AKs,maybe KK. Now with less info we have a tough flop decision, does he have 999,AKs,1010,JJ,AA,KK. You are probably beat Fold, you only beat 1010,JJ,AKs he is slight favorite.

You do 3 bet the UTG because his range there is tight, he has to raise TT JJ QQ KK AA ... So you re raise for 9 dollars total to find out what he has... If he raises again, then you can just fold or see a flop.. not raising there is your biggest mistake.... because if you are UTG with QQ and you raise, and somebody re raises , you cant re raise again you can only call profitably.....Folding pre flop under that situation is ridiculous as what the first guy said.

smooth calling pre flop is fine imo.

if u raise, u give the UTG player chance to make a large 4bet and folding queens preflop, if you choose to fold, sucks. smooth calling in position here is absolutely fine.

im not sure how much we really 'find out where we are' and it shouldnt be the justification for raising here. if we raise here, and get shoved over the top, we fold the hand. by smooth calling, we can see a flop, and on, say a J or T high flop, we can call a cbet, and see what villian does on the turn. we've probably paid a similar price to re-raising pre, yet we can see 4 cards now and how the villain is playing. a strong turn bet from the villian and we can porbably let the hand go. hell, we could even flop a Q that we didnt get to see before...

then the SB jumps in and fucks all that up anyway.
more info on SB would be good, but seeing the UTG raise and one caller already before shoving would suggest a strong hand, and the UTGs cold call on top makes folding a real posibility. once the SB shoves, its hard to see the UTG cold calling here with anything but AK, AA, KK or QQ, as you have said he is a nit.
