Default Two hands, same villan, one lap apart...

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    saw flop

    SB ($1.73)
    BB ($2.05)
    UTG ($2.36)
    MP ($1.15)
    CO ($0.88)
    Hero (Button) ($5.91)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, 10
UTG bets $0.10, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.10, 2 folds

    Flop: ($0.23) 10, 8, 7 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.12, UTG raises to $0.46, Hero calls $0.34

    Turn: ($1.15) 2 (2 players)
    UTG checks, Hero checks

    River: ($1.15) J (2 players)
UTG bets $1.15, Hero calls $1.15

UTG is 29/20, but is positionally aware. I've saw him with junk several times, but always on the CO or button. I'm sitting at 21/14.

    On the flop:
I expected him to check-raise me unless he wanted me to call. I would have called a reasonable flop bet, but would have been ready to fold to future pressure. A check raise was a snap call (thought I did wait a few seconds)

    On the river:
His shove just makes no sense to me for anything other than a bluff or a rare 99.

    Thoughts on my thinking/playing?

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (4 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    saw flop

    SB ($4.68)
    BB ($3.59)
    UTG ($1.51)
    Hero (Button) ($5.68)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 6, 9
1 fold, Hero bets $0.06, 1 fold, BB calls $0.04

    Flop: ($0.13) 7, Q, 9 (2 players)
BB bets $0.13, Hero calls $0.13

    Turn: ($0.39) 8 (2 players)
BB bets $0.39, Hero raises to $1, BB calls $0.61

    River: ($2.39) J (2 players)
BB bets $2.40 (All-In), Hero folds

    Total pot: $2.39 | Rake: $0.15

When he called my turn raise, I was finished with the hand. Looking back I think I should have shoved the turn.

    Thoughts?

#2, do you think you have a lot of fold equity ? The line of call flop lead turn is quite strong.

Plus if he has any draw he is getting 3:1 to call. Those are sexy odds. raise more on turn.

he didn't call on the flop, he led all streets postflop.

    1. His range for c/r this flop after opening utg is likely prety damn strong and includes a bunch of overapirs and sets. I would probably just check the flop back for pot control and plan to induce some turn bets because honestly I don't think he has too much shit that's c/c that you can get value from. Think most of his range is either giving up or playing a big hand weirdly. I think that assuming that he'll c/r if he wants you to fold is a bit groundless and silly without good reads. As played I'd just fold to the flop raise, but call this river after he checks since I doubt he value bets sets this way, and likely doesn't have a whole lot of 9s in his range.

    2. Just fold the turn. This is way spewy. The turn is a good card for his range, makes him some 2 pairs, straights, pair + draw combos, and his bet sizing really doesn't look like he's planning on folding any time soon. Your equity really isn't as great as you think here since you have a crappy pair and a draw to a shitty stright and he already has some nut hands and tons of hands with a ton of equity vs you in his range. FE is minimal to non existent here imo.

#1.. why not bet the turn? were you affraid of him check/raising? i think if you bet the turn and he just calls it gives you a good sense of where you are at. his raise on the flop means nothing really because i've been seeing alot of PP's check/raising flops after raising preflop. On the button maybe 3bet this hand preflop as well to get a better idea of villains hand strength? I haven't played 2nl in a very long time so I don't remember exactly the type of players there. Only other thing is possibly shove on river? He only has what, $1.71 left? If he does show up with A9s or TT then ouch, but chances are he's more likely to have QQ+, maybe AJ+ hands?
I like to see what other have to say on this hand...

you know what, nvmd... i don't think i bet the flop or turn here either.. guess keeping the pot small is better since at this point probably only better is calling but seeing the J on the river I think I deff shove... i dunno... seems like a weird set or an overpair

Santo 3 betting preflop here is honestly really bad. Don't ever 3 bet an utg open "to get a sesne of where you're at." If he calls or raises, you're in terrible shape, dominated a ton and have cut out loads of your implied odds vs his bigger hands by inflating the pot/or caused him to 4 bet and stopped yourself from beinh able to see a flop. If you feel he folds a lot to 3 bets when he opens utg then pick hands that don't play so well IP to 3 bet bluff, this is pretty much never the case here though so 3-betting is dire.
