Default Full Tilt backs out of WA

Well there goes that out. I just moved my bankroll over there and started to clear the signup bonus and this....

"Unfortunately, due to the recent Washington State Supreme Court ruling, real-money play at Full Tilt Poker is no longer permitted within Washington State.

In the interest of all of our players who play while in Washington State, we have invested significant time in legal consultation before coming to this decision.

Regrettably, with immediate effect this means that you will no longer be allowed to play for real money when located within Washington State.

Please note that you will only be affected if you are located in Washington State when you log in to our game software - you are free to play as normal when accessing the game from outside the state.

Please be assured that your funds are safe and secure in your Full Tilt Poker account and our Customer Support team is available to assist you with any queries that you may have.

To join the fight to keep poker legal we recommend that you sign up to the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), via https://ppa.secure.force.com/pmtx/Mi...0130000000X8BF.

For more information, please see our Frequently-Asked-Questions page at Online Poker at Full Tilt Poker - About Us: Washington State FAQ and do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

    Yours sincerely,

    The Full Tilt Poker Team"

You should cereusly consider a change in poker rooms.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

Not that I play much poker lately anyways, but it looks like I'm not gonna be playing any poker now. I don't have the roll for live play (not to mention I don't want to support the people that paid for this bullshit law) and refuse to play on AP/UB.

    This fucking sucks.

I am a resident of Washington State. Can I play for real money at Full Tilt Poker outside Washington State?

Yes. If you are located outside Washington State when you play, you can play for real money even if you are a resident of Washington State.

What will happen to my real-money account balance?

Your real-money account balance remains safe and secure at Full Tilt Poker. You may withdraw your balance via the Cashier or, as noted above, you may play for real money when outside Washington State.

If I live in Washington State, do I have to cash out?

No. You will still be free to use your account balance to play for real money when you are logged in from outside of Washington State.
Read this very carefully. FT doesnt care if you are a Washington resident, have a Washington address, but login "from" a different state.

looking at that link ....5500 ips. erm what happens when some dodgy git also uses one of the ips that you have used regularly and screws FT in some way . do you risk your funds through asociation with a fraudster/bot/chargeback scammer etc.

Yeah, they're trying to nab payment processors that are processing any poker winnings. They actually got one in Canada that processed Cereus money.

I'm no expert on American law, but as I understand it, a felony is an offence that carries a potential punishment of 1 year in prison or more.

So I conclude that in Washington, playing online poker can get you a prison sentence.

That's pretty fucked up if you asked me.

I couldn't live under this sort of dictatorship. I thought America was a beacon of democracy? If I were a WA resident, I'd be looking to relocate. I know that's not easy, but I seriously couldn't live under this kind of legal atmosphere.

    This is increasingly false.

    It's now a Corporatocracy.

tbh, I knew that anyway, after Bush' first election win. Then when he got back in, I realised aslo that Americans are dumber than I realised.

I'm confused why the casinos would be in favour of these laws though. I was under the impression that casinos were keen to get poker out of the building, since they could increase profits by replacing the tables with slot machines. Poker doesn't make casinos that much money, the internet did them a favour! I would've thought the casinos would focus more on true online gambling, such as roulette and blackjack, as this is a direct hit on their profits.

But then I know fuck all.

if that were the case what would be stopping them from just getting rid of the poker tables, regardless of whether or not there was poker on the internet

I don't know. Poker tournaments can be prestigious, a good advert for a hotel or casino, but not your crappy $100 tourneys that the average player attends. I don't run a casino, so I haven't got a clue. I read somewhere, I think on here, that slot machines make much more money per square metre than poker. But it's a good question, why would poker exist at all in casinos if that were true? Maybe it's easy to scam?

The lavish pools at the Las Vegas hotels don't turn a profit either... at least not a direct profit. But do you not see their obvious function?

I am a retard, I can't help it. I got dribble on my chin. You shouldn't take the piss, it's like being racist.

Actually it's quite refreshing to be mocked in a non-aggressive manner. Hats off.

Yeah but it was getting boring, just talking about poker and blah. I don't mind being a troll target, I don't take myself too seriously so I couldn't give a crap if everyone thinks I'm a dumb retard. Gives you muppets something to talk about instead of video games and tits.
