I'd have an objection to the perverse amount of soccer fields sprouting up everywhere around here, if they didn't convert them to hockey rinks in the winter.

Seriously, all this sport is to us is something cheap we can put our kids into that doesn't require much effort. I mean any stupid kid can understand the object of the game, and most poor-ass, unloving parents can afford a pair of running shoes and shin guards.

you like hockey but hate soccer? how does that even make sense, hockey just copied soccer but was like "lets be on skates and use sticks instead of our feet.....and when people dont find that entertaining we will just beat the shit out of eachother because thats the only way we will ever get anyone to watch our sport.." In hockey you cant even tell if someone scores until the red light starts flashing because the fucking puck gets lost so easily on the screen....fuck hockey.

soccer is a fucking epic game. Obviously theres the international aspect and the fact that it brings the whole world together and its something the whole world has in common, but the game itself is fucking awesome. The way they are able to exhibit so much control with their feet is mindblowing imo, and some of the goals are unbelieveable.


1 thing though, if they widened the goals a bit that would make it a lot better....way to many 1-0 games or 0-0 games or 1-1 games....we need some more scoring.

@Penney, in the New England area everyone tends to play soccer especially in the upper class regions by Greenwich, New Canaan, Cambridge, etc. Football and basketball tended to the "poorer" sports.

It tilts the shit outta me when I mention hockey and some idiot says "I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out" so I just say sarcastically "wow I've never heard that one before".

I'm getting to where I hate football because of college football. The dumbass defensive tackle's job on every play is to get in the backfield and sack the QB or running back. So he does it one time in the entire game and he thinks he's supposed to celebrate for 2 minutes. Seems like the NFL has stopped doing this as they should. TD's are different and should be celebrated.
