Default You guys ever getting away from a set here?

    Merge Network $0.02/$0.04 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players -

    UTG: $4.65
    UTG+1: $5.43
    MP1: $4.23
    MP2: $2.04
    CO: $5.04
    BTN: $2.87
    SB: $7.00
    Hero (BB): $3.60

Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero is BB with 4 4
    UTG calls $0.04, 2 folds, MP2 calls $0.04, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.04, SB raises to $0.12, Hero calls $0.08, UTG calls $0.08, MP2 calls $0.08, BTN calls $0.08

    Flop: ($0.60) J 4 Q (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.64, UTG calls $0.64, MP2 folds, BTN folds, [color=red]SB raises to $1.28.... Hero????

SB has played generally tight... didn't write the stats down at the time but I remember thinking he prob had the nuts b/c of how tight he was.
You guys ever get away from this?? He is minraising so is a set out of the question what does this line lead you to believe?? Oh and UTG is a huge fish that calls down with anything..Thanks

Even if he has a few combos of overpairs and all sets the added dead money from UTG makes continuing fistpump. Not sure if we should call or ship though. Also why did you overbet flop?

If the SB had been raised and 3bet preflop here, and he was really as tight as you say, then perhaps, just perhaps you might lay this down. Don't quote me on that, and don't expect me to do as I say, because even then, who lays down a flopped set? It's too easy for even a nit to raise here with an overpair or even TPTK, in fact, with the 2 clubs on board I'd expect a nit to raise tptk to price out flush draws.

You can't get away from this.

Not folding unless UTG is super-tight.

SB's bet size does look odd though.

SB's flop c/r after raising pre is disconcerting as I think overpairs are going to just be firing most of the time. Still not getting away ofc...

Canada; the country all tucked away down there...
never folding but certainly not completely happy. He probably does this with AA once in a while I suppose.
Just hit your quads and you wont have an issue...

SB is more likely to have QJ than AA.

stats are actually reasonably important here.

bet flop smaller, don't fold vs the c-raise, shove is probably better than call. If sb is like 6-5 then it becomes closer i guess, but 6 combos of AA vs 6 combos of QQ/JJ, add an AK combo and dead money and get it in

Someone on here told me to bet pot or more on flush boards if I hit a set. Is this a bad idea??
