    Merge - $0.04 NL - Holdem - 8 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

    BB: 40 BB (VPIP: 14.48, PFR: 11.94, 3Bet Preflop: 3.55, Hands: 3,206)
    UTG: 99.75 BB (VPIP: 37.18, PFR: 12.82, 3Bet Preflop: 3.70, Hands: 80)
    UTG+1: 132.5 BB (VPIP: 17.72, PFR: 15.19, 3Bet Preflop: 6.12, Hands: 161)
    MP: 132.25 BB (VPIP: 26.67, PFR: 8.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 152)
    MP+1: 103.5 BB (VPIP: 15.42, PFR: 9.69, 3Bet Preflop: 1.52, Hands: 772)
    CO: 237 BB (VPIP: 17.59, PFR: 11.17, 3Bet Preflop: 3.73, Hands: 769)
    BTN: 60.5 BB (VPIP: 11.28, PFR: 10.53, 3Bet Preflop: 5.00, Hands: 133)
    Hero (SB): 112.25 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J A

UTG calls 1 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 7.5 BB

thoughts? i figured utg has a lot of low-med pps in their range, so i wanted to make sure they were getting bad odds to setmine

Too big, raise to 4bb is enough I think, maybe 4.5

If you know he's limp/calling ace rag at this price, then this is fine. With these stats he might well be. I'd be slowly raising more and more against him until I found his l/c limit.

Why would you be worried about him setmining? Are you planning on stacking off with top pair already?

I imagine a typical 37/13 type player limping UTG has a fairly inelastic limp/calling range pre as long as you don't get too ridiculous with the sizing. Iso'ing to 7-8x is probably the sweet spot though.
