Default [spoonitnow strategy] Mindfulness Sucks (Sept 27)

I really talk a lot about this new age crap and why it sucks in this week's awesome article about the mental side of poker (aka how poker will drive you mental).

    Why Mindfulness Sucks

Mindfulness is an important part of Buddhism, and it’s become a bit of a buzzword over the past few years with people pimping it out in all sorts of ways to try to profit from talking about mindfulness in X, Y or Z field. Because of this, mindfulness kind of sucks because it’s gotten to the point that a lot of people don’t take it seriously. This is much like how many people think that meditation is just some new age junk that doesn’t have any scientific backing, though that’s in the decline since it’s been shown to drastically change the structure and functioning of your brain over time.

Anyone here meditate regularly? I remember ISF/Max and some others talking about the school they went to where they were taught to do this.

interesting post. oddly enough I think I'm more interested in using poker to become more mindful than I am in using mindfulness to become better at poker. both would be cool though...

BTW are you aware the links to the strategy articles you've posted are broken at the moment?

So you're saying mindfulness really does not suck, right? That it is good in pretty much all circumstances just talking about it as a buzzword and not doing it sucks, correct? I agree.

I'm in the same boat. And the link in the OP works fine for me on multiple computers in multiple browsers. I'm not responsible for the sticky. If some worst-case scenario comes up, you could find them by searching for "spoonitnow strategy" in Google.

Bump. I know you guys are trying to figure out your optimal reverse implied triple merge ranges at 5nl, but this week's article is some pretty important stuff.
