    Default NL vs PL

Hey guys, love the threads...great to learn and have great commentary while doing so....I played some PL last night and did well. I don't see much diff except for the obvious (all-in preflop etc.) so i suspect without alot of thought implied odds may vary some? I did notice some serious banging the pot on a couple tables,,,any input from experience or pro/cons?
    Thanks

Were there many fish at the tables? Personally, I like the structure of Pot Limit better and have even heard rumblings of making the big WSOP event Pot Limit Hold'em to cut down on the all-in terrorism (Sklansky's "System" in his tournament book.) However, I have a feeling there is a surplus of TV poker newbies just dying to try out short handed moves they saw on TV at a 10 person table...

I generally play no limit, but I have played pot limit and personally, it did not have a huge impact on my game since most of my bets tend to be pot amount or less.

But I prefer the no limit game, PL still handcuffs you a bit. If you have the nut hand (or close to it), and you have fish making poor calls, you could cash in more at NL than PL. And on the flip side, I hardly ever make those calls so it's more one-sided for me. Just last night I had set up a hand with some very passive play, setting a trap, I check-raised on the river and busted out the all-in, and the guy called. I would have shorted myself maybe $10 on that pot if it was a pot-limit game.

    Default NL vs. PL

For some reason on Party Poker, if you look at the table lists, the average pot size tends to be bigger on the PL tables than on the NL tables. Maybe I'm missing something, but I think it might be easier to push the 'Bet Pot' button than the 'All In' button. In any case, in my (very limited) experience so far, I've made more money at the PL tables.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I take seats at the higher pot averages, and then I notice that they're pot limit...

Because of that I've actually been playing more pot limit than no limit lately. Players also seem less aggressive for some reason, maybe they are players just getting off limit but too timid to take the dive to no limit.
