Hand 1, I can't blame you, I usually play it the same way. With all those people in the hand, I guess you could've figured that someone almost assuredly had an ace and therefore not bet on the flop, but you tried to take it down, and there's really nothing wrong with that. At least you didn't call the huge raise.

Hand 2, I think you gotta fold here. I folded an almost identical hand a while back and posted that one (although it was on a penny table ) - http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=1495

    Stack sizes would be nice.

Hand 1: I'm leaning towards check/fold here. I've tried this twice the weekend with much meatier bets. I had to laydown both times. With a lot of money behind you I don't think you're giving up a lot of value.

Hand 2: If it was anything but an Ace on the side, I'd fold. I think you got to raise the flop big here.

Why would you raise the flop big? You'd likely scare out hands you beat, like an A, and only get called by hands that beat you, which is any other 3. You really play trips on a rainbow flop like that?

By the way, now that I take another look, it is a tougher laydown than I thought because of the turn 9. You're worried about the kicker here, but you're playing the 333A9, which means if they have a kicker lower than a 9 its a split, and the betting is coming from the SB. The hand doesn't show, but apparently they had K3 or Q3 judging from the river. But even with the possible split, I'd still lay it down. Too much to risk and not that much invested.

Some would say fold AQo to a big raise pre-flop in a cash game when the money is deep. Too difficult to know where you're at with it.

Well, since he was so happy after the big raise, I guess you gotta lay it down. Thats a convenient meter by the way!

Not sure how you can answer without knowing what these guys are all about, but here's what I think.

I like the first hand. His $4 raise pre-flop might is some indicator. How has he been betting AK, AQ. $4 ain't a very good raise that early, and you ought to pick up on what it means. Axs?? I don't like the bet on the flop. Anybody without an A is going to go for the free card, and the A has you beat. A steal bet from the button triggers the all-in, and you've got an easier decision to make. A free card could bring your set.

On the second hand, he's BB so he could have easily a 3, and if he does, he can't have a weaker kicker. I'd say a laydown would be the right play, but its easier to say now that we've seen the end. Again, alot depends on whether or not this guy is the kind to go balls to the wall on top two pair or worse.

I'd have trouble slowplaying top two pair, even if it is with AQ. I'm sure you wouldn't do it with a flush draw, and there's a good chance he's got at least a 4 card draw to it.

The $27 raise against a $105 in the pot is just about 3:1. It doesn't say what he had, but it was a bad call on his part, it should have taken him out, if he didn't already have the straight (doesn't show his hole cards, did he have KJ, or did the river K make his hand?

Oh wait, now I see. The board was AQ2T when he hits his straight with the K. He had a jack. Did he have a 9 also? that gives him 9TJQ to the straight, so he's got 8 outs. I think you gotta go over the top by half pot to get him out of there.
