    Default SNG's

Well, I started playing 2.50/.25 SNG's at Pacific Poker. I'm thinking it lets me gain more experience, by being able to play more hands/situations w/ less risk. I've been playing 5 seat games, and so far I've finished in the money 7/9 times. Unfortunatly mostly 3rd, which only pays 2.50. I think mabey I'm playing too tight. I don't see the flop unless I have Group 0-4 from Tanaka's hand ranking. Any suggestions specific to playing tournaments/SNG's would be appreciated.

since it's shorthanded you need to loosen up a bit, but groups 0-4 is already fairly loose. maybe you should try being more aggressive for the hands that you do play.

In the money 7/9 is awesome. It sounds like you are playing well. Ofyentimes it seems that the winner is someoune who has taken a few chances. The win or lose type. Second to them or third is fine.
    Rock on.
The race doesn't always go to the fastest or the strongest but it's a pretty good bet.

I have found tight/aggressive works pretty well. Be selective about your hands but hit em hard. Just try not to go all-in early unless your hand is very very good.

I agree with tight aggressive. Also, dependent on where it is you're playing. Staying away from the action early on also pays off. The blinds are small, so let the other maniacs knock each other out. And when the blinds hit 25/50. That's when you can start making your move. Also you can start opening it up a bit when you get down to 5-6 people.

Keep in mind the 7/9 in the money is in 5 person SNG's. I guess I need to start placing 3rd on a full table. So if I'm starting with only 5 people should I be looser pre-flop than Tanaka's Group 0-4 starting hands. Or is that already too loose?
