apple powerbook and poker rooms

I'm thinking of buying an apple g4 powerbook and would like to know if anyone here has any experiences with playing poker on a mac? Anyone know any good poker rooms that support mac?

I've heard theres a virtualPC thing that u can use to play on party poker and other major poker rooms, but is it reliable, can u use it with poker tracker and still multitable? I would buy a 1.8Ghz with 2gb of ram, so should this be good enought to handle multitabling?

get a pc if your main use for the computer is poker. I have two friends that sold their macs because they became so irritated with them and onine poker. But pokerroom does work for mac, if you happen to like that place. good luck.

pokerpages aka bugsys club has a mac client. quite decent. but it is almost 100% NL tournaments so if that's not your poison, sorry.

pokerroom works on mac because it's java based. but the interface is iffy (my opinion) and it will never pop up to the front when it's your turn to act. hollywood poker is a pokerroom skin so it also works on mac.

i have virtual pc 7 and it works fine for running partypoker and ultimatebet, even 2 tables at once. but it can't handle certain other sites, they just slow to a crawl.

I bought a PC because my MAC wouldn't work at any of the sites I tried. To be clear, I have an iMac, and I understand the G4s are much more adept at conversing with PC software. I also had heard about VirtualPC for MAC, but never tried it out. VPC was only slightly less expensive than the used laptop I bought out of the newspaper. I also like the idea of having a seperate machine for my games than from my work/financial documents on my Mac.

Obviously, if others here are saying they know it's ok at this site or that one, then I'm sure it's ok. Just don't expect it to work on every site you want to play at.

I had to buy a pc to play poker on because virtual pc was just too slow. I have a G4 and it will run star, UB, and party, but most others would just rau way too slow. It got to be a real PITA.

I never thought id say it but get a pc.

Being in the graphic design business, I used to be a Mac snob back in the day (10 or 15 years ago), but now I'm a dual-platform convert.

Mac is for graphics/video-editing/multimedia (work, for me).
Windows is for gaming, poker and everything else.


That's all there is to it.

It's real simple. If you want to play poker, do it on a PC.
Get the Mac by all means, but also buy some bucket Pc, soop it up, and play poker on that.

Pokerroom and Hollywoodpoker both work on Macs. Heck, they even use the same servers and tables.
I use my Mac to play at pokerroom and love it. Admittedly, I have nothing else to compare it to, but I really can't imagine what could be so great about all the other poker sites that people are actually suggesting you buy a second computer rather than play on one of the perfectly functional and profitable Mac-friendly sites.

Ok i decided not to go with a mac and buy a pc laptop instead. Now I'm thinking about dell inspiron 9300 and acer travelmate 8104. Has anyone got any experiences with these two laptops ?
