What should I have done?

Default What should I have done?

This hand happened in a home, NL Holdem cash game, 20$ with .25 and .50 blinds. We had declared this fand the final hand before cashout, and I was up 2$ after a big comeback.

I look down to see Kd Kc and raise the .50. I get two callers. The flop comes something like 3d 5c 7d. First position bets about 3, guy to the left calls, I call. Turn is 3c. First position bets 5, left of me calls, and I call as well. Iam now already betting way into my profit, but I obviously seems like the right play. River is a Qh, first positon bets 6, and the rest of us call. Well I ended up losing, to the guy in first position who flopped his set of 7s, and made his full house. The guy to the left of me had pocket aces, and my pocket Kings look like freakin rags. I end up losing 14$ on the day on this final hand.

Should I have played this differently? Do you think I should have folded on the flop or turn, or was this just a bad beat? What would you guys have done?

    himself fucker.
You managed to make out like a fat cat against Aces with Kings. You played it a little soft, it seems and really didn't take an active attempt to find out what the other guys had. You should have raised the pot instead of letting those hands stick around on the flop, naturally you woulda have been called but you might have been able to let go of your hand after that instead of calling down to the river.

I guess I wasnt more aggressive, just because I was trying to protect my profit. Either way, by not raising, I saved the little money I did manage to keep at the end. Even if I had raised and someone called, I dont think I would have been able to get away from it later.

Re-raise his bet on the flop, and fold to his re-re-raise. that would have saved you some money.

It's not always easy to let KK go, but I could see doing it in this case, especially since it was a live game.

    1. Only a minimum raise preflop with KK?
    2. No reraising on FTR with overpair?
    3. Are you playing with scared money?
    4. The guy who had AA, what's his deal? Is this how you guys usually play monsters? You guys sound like you're playing WAY too Loose Passive.

I wouldn't call it a bad beat, because a guy had AA to your KK.

First things first, learn to raise 3x preflop with hands like KK and not the minimum.

I should have mentioned that this a 4 way table, and yeah the guy with Aces is an idiot (doesnt play much poker). I didnt want to raise too much pre-flop because I wanted to make some use of the kings. Either way, I dont think a large pre-flop raise would drive out the pocket 7s.

I would have raised the bet post-flop to get an idea where I was at. They both would have called or possibly re-raised you and then you would have had tough decision. Hard to let the Kings go.
-It seemed like a good idea at the time-
