Default I love me some trips.

Once again, I get excited hitting my trips. What might I have done?

    CO ($1.57)
    Button ($4.88)
    SB ($2.69)
    Hero ($1.49)
    UTG ($2.22)
    UTG+1 ($2.78)

    Turn: ($6.87) A (3 players)

    Final Pot: $6.87
    Main Pot: $6.87, between MP2, SB and Hero. > Split: MP2 ($3.43), SB ($3.43).

Nice push on the flop, well played.

As soon as the SB raises your raise after the flop you know he has the straight. Your only hope is to pair the board for a boat. Other than that you know you're beat when you call.
-It seemed like a good idea at the time-

The straight or the flush. And he didn't call that re-raise on the flop, he was already all-in. Frankly I think pushing there was way over-aggressive considering the board. The axiom goes - you will only get called (or raised) by hands that already have you beat. Then you're just hoping the board pairs to save you. I think you should bet hard there but not that hard. Once you got flat called and then raised, you know you're beat - but you don't have the chance to save yourself any money, because it's already in the pot.
