I would say either of his re-raises on the turn, preferably the first one.

You don't really have any reads on him and it looks to me like he was itching to get in some sort of check raise from the off.

It's a tough one with two pair and no flush or straight apparent, but that kind of action might suggest slow playing trips.

When the hand was over I was fn pst off askin myself why I didnt jsut give it up when he re-raised me back to $6.00, but now after I have re-analyzed the hand, im not really that mad that I ended up using my whole stack on the hand, and heres why. When he bet out and represented a pair, I had to re-raise with two pair just enough to get rid of his pot odds just in case hes the kinda moron that bets out in early position towards a flush draw (why players in early positions bet towards draws I have no idea, I think its the stupidest play in hold em) so, I did re-raising to $1.80 costing him $1.05 into a $3.30 pot which actually slightly gave him slight proper odds, but I did the calculations in my head the best I could so give me a break. Now when he re-raised, I was thinkin, that he was thinking that I was probably just tryin to put a move on him, so he re-raised me to $6.00. Now here is where I guess I could have givin it up, and i would have considering the board was scary like having a board that represented he could have a stright or a flush with three of one suit on the board. But if that was the case i would have never re-raised him since the pot was limped in to begin with. But with no possible straight or flush showing on the board, at this point I just dont think I could fold two pair when its costing me $4.20 into a $9.30 pot, thats a little better then 2:1 odds. There for I need to be atleast 66% sure im beat in theory to fold this pot. With two pair and considering the only thing that can beat me is trips, with about a 12% chance he had just that, odds said to stay in the hand, now like my boy MrSmokey1 says ( a hell of a $5-10 nl player) ou need to either be raising or folding...never calling. So I raised to $15.00 once again costing him $9.00 into a $24.30 pot completely ridding his odds if he is on that flush draw tryin to outplay me for it. To which he went back over the top costing me about $9.75 into a $37.50 pot. At this point im pretty dayum sure im beat, but with no stright or flush draw showing, me having two pair, and receiving almost 4:1 pay. I jsut odnt think I can fold this hand and am just goin to have to pay him off if im beat.....Is my thinkin completely wrong n this situation?

Do you guys think is overall more profitable in the long run to play two pair or a set like the nuts goin all in when my opponent keeps re-raising me like he did on the hand above when theres no straight or flush showing, and to just pay off the bigger two pair or bigger set when my opponent has me beat? Or to just raise once and then fold showing passivness when my opponent re-raises me?

Quack, Quack. You got played. After he re-raised you either push AI or fold. The pissing contest with the re-raises was silly.

Next time you will take his money with your baby set.

Nothing much else you could do. Classic case where you got lucky in BB with a trash hand that hit just enough of the board to cost you your stack. He did nothing preflop to give you any clue. It was your first hand so you had no read.

However, his check on flop and then re-raise on turn smells real funny. You also have to be even more careful when you have 2 pair but not top 2 pair. In that case, I'm not usually inclined to get all my money in uless it is against a really wild player.

You really need to lear when two pair is no good...

When someone is hammering back at you and just keeps hammering at you think to yourself what could he possibly have? I think you will realize he either has a higher 2 pair or a set.

Two pair is not a license to print money. You'll learn though.

    Default mmm

Two days ago I woulda allinned him on hes reraise, today I would fold it.

And steve O gave the reason, checking flop then betting HEAVY back at anything without a flush or straight on the board can only be 1 thing in my book from now on, and thats a set.

Ive lost half my bankroll to sets during the last two days, I goddamn HOPE ive learned my lesson before I go bankrupt!!!

haha (not lughing at u! but myself =)
