    Default Good fold?

Should I have bet more or less on the turn? Go ahead and stab at the river to see if I'm re-raised? Was I likely beat even before the river? I don't recall any of my reads on these people...likely because it's from the same tilty session mentioned in my other post.

Straight and flush draw and you have neither. You just saved $15.

That was my take on it too. If he has the straight (and didn't have a flush draw as well), I'd be shocked so if it wasn't for the flush, I'd probably have called. Which leads to my question of if I should have bet more on the turn to destroy flush odds... (Something I'm increasingly thinking is going to be my next plugged leak...not destroying odds efficiently enough).

I also feel like my small bet on the turn followed by my check on the river screamed weakness. If I were this guy, I'd have probably bluffed the pot after that display, figuring I'd take it down. Thus my thought that perhaps I should have bet out on the river.

Oh, btw, I was short stack in this, with a total of about $12, so it wouldn't have cost me $15 to call - more like $7.

Yeah, but you still only have a pair of Aces. He could have A + another paired card too. There are way too many hands that beat you.

Right. I can't call this bet. Could I/Should I have played it differently so that this bet never came?

    Default heya

im pretty new to poker, but ill give u my take anyway =D take it with a grain of salt though!!!!

Id say u played it nicely till the river, but as u get to urself, just checking then SCREAMS weakness, and id be REALLY temptet to steal that pot with a pot bet, specially when it wont cost him more than 7 dollars even if u calls.

the thing is, since u only had 7 dollars left, the implied odds sitting with the draws as that other guy just suck in my oppinion, so id prolly folded to the 3 dollar bet. telling me he didnt have the flush or the straight.

what id do instead of what u did ? id prolly gone all in on the river, ur bets preriver kinda scream cheap draws too. So an all in would fit wery well with u hitting ur flush or some crap. so even if the other guy sat with a straight or a low flush, he might have folded outta fear...

but then again, ive lost half my bankroll in the last two days, so PLEASE take it with a grain of salt !!!

    haha

    good laydown =D

I think you played it fine. Just ran into a better hand.
